Seriously. This is getting worse than mike’s kadri hate.

Gardiner’s ability has nothing to do with rielly’s injury. And who replaces rielly has nothing to do with gardiner.

Gardiner has been great this year, and I hate the dumb (frank)

Exactly like that, only with better spelling and a 1000 times as much.

I'm one of Gardiners biggest critics but he was excellent last night. This is a big opportunity for him, show every body you can play against higher quality of competition. I see it as a test.
- LeafMan

Absolutely. He'll face tougher challenges in the upcoming couple of weeks, but he has a chance to show whether he is capable of reaching his potential.

Yeah, the Goat has been miles better than Smith. I really hope that they keep him around and waive Smith as soon as he's healthy

Ever get tired of not knowing what the hell you're talking about?

Gardiner was great last night, and Frankie has already been confirmed to be playing with Carrick.

So you're 0 for 2

I see no need for Ben Smith either, but this argument is akin to HH's old jewel:

"The Leafs made the playoffs when Bozak played more minutes."

"The Leafs made the playoffs with Orr and FML, we need more enforcers"

he surely is.
we just disagree what that potential is.
i'm quite sure he's playing at top of his potential; which is some good offensive contribution. however lacking on the defensive side, and bad in decision making (0 hockey intelligence).

I'm happy to say I'm wrong about a player.
E.g. I underestimated Connor Brown's abilities - very happy he's doing way better than I expected.
But I'm quite sure I got Jake Gardiner's evaluation right; a 3-4 d-man that is great on pp, and lacks defensive positioning abilities.

at $4M/year, sounds like good value for gardiner.

They're too busy in their own blog calling for everyone to be fired/stoned/flogged/lynched and starting a new rebuild.

Off topic but, what are the kodi plugins I should get for games these days again? I lost my post-it with the names.

For games the top two are MiC ( made in Canada) & Bob.

These two addons have the highest quality streams.

Bob is in the noobsandnerds repository, MiC is in its own.

I never said he had no use.
I'm just saying that he is lacking some serious defensive abilities.
Carrick actually the same - they're not a proper pairing going forward it seems to me.

If Leafs can keep Gardiner just for pp and offensive zone starts, in this way limiting his time in defensive zone, then he could be a good piece to the team. He's surely no good for the PK.

He'll now go probably go from approx 56% offensive zone starts to around 55% defensive zone starts, and will play better opponents in addition. (assuming he'll take most of Rielly's minutes).
I expect Jake Gardiner to be a minus player when he's used like that - way worse defensively (being 'responsible' for goals against) than Polak and Hunwick which are disliked on here by many.
