The real problem is most people don't realize that a bike is just another vehicle (albeit not a motor vehicle). Bikes are subject to all the same vehicle and traffic laws as any other vehicle - but too many people don't realize it (both bike operators and motor vehicle operators) and don't operate in a safe manner.

And since he was riding a bike because his license was revoked because he had a bunch of DWIs, and that his "motorized" bike was a motor vehicle he got to spend the weekend in the Erie County Holding Center. And for his troubles he had to wear an anklet that detected alcohol and he had to go to counseling and all that happy horsepoop.
