It's not happening nor should it. No one out there who could do better right now.

Unless stuff gets really bad, I am generally not in favor of firing coaches mid-season. The season has ebbs and flows. The Rangers suck right now, and have their first extended losing streak of the season (don't think they've lost three in a row this season before, but I may be wrong). You have to give the coach and the team an opportunity to battle through it.

These are the times that try men's souls.

I'm waiting for the news to break, that Hank got caught cheating on his wife and she is leaving him and taking the kids?

That's about the only thing at this point that would explain his lack of focus and his head not being in the game.

It has to be something in his personal life, I just don't see this being an age or physical thing, especially with his time off this past summer. Its nowhere near as bad (yet.... gulp), but it's like what we saw with Tiger Woods.

If they did fire AV mid season (I'm not completely for or against this right now) what kind of options are there available at the moment? Would they just use one of the associate coaches for the remainder?

if they did, I imagine they'd make Arniel the interim coach until end of season and figure it out from there

I think its the defense coupled with Hank having a bad year and it makes things look 10x worse.

Need to trade for a Dman asap

I want to make very clear, this is completely baseless and don't have any info at all, I'm just thinking what else could be so bad that a guy's game, focus and confidence drop off the shelf so quickly since there is no apparent injury?

Blake looked like a zit about to pop. I actually thought Mess was going to give him an aneurysm.

IMO, he needs to adjust the way he plays. This has been mentioned before, but Hank is a reflex goalie. He plays VERY deep in his crease and relies heavily on this reaction time to make quality saves. Hes getting older, and to be honest, I think his reflexes MAY be getting a half second to a second worse. Couple that with PISS POOR defensive efforts and that explains why Hank is getting exposed. Its never a bad thing to adjust your style of play. It may take some time, but overall I think playing a little further out and cutting off angles is a better approach for him going forward. Just my two cents

Really felt bad for Blake, Mess sent the message and then some. He was practically purple and nearly hypoxic.
Kreider looked like he was trying to pull his head off with the helmet.

I agree. If he is just 10ths of a second slower that makes a big difference with how deep he is. If he is going to play a bit further out, defense better be a lot better too. Will be more susceptible to cross ice passes etc.
