Hopefully we get to see him but I think they still call I guy up wouldn't they? - Garnie
They're at home for the next few, why waste cap space? Probably not till they hit the road? |

Anybody notice the defense Nashville iced last night?
Ryan Ellis-Matt Irwin
Mattias Ekholm-Yannick Weber (4th line forward on the Canucks last year...)
Anthony Bitteto-Alexander Carrier
Holy (frank)balls. That's as bad as the Leafs, if not worse. - AdamFrench
Well remove a Josi and a Subban from any team and you're going to have depth problems on the backend. |

Pierre Maguire said on the radio (in Ottawa) that most experts feel that Hunwick is just a notch above Rielly and maybe Zaitsev as well...but not him! Oh no! Not him! He thinks Rielly is probably the Leafs best overall defender.
What a (frank)ing ponce. Who are the experts that think Hunwick is above Rielly at anything other than age and how do they have jobs?
Or the more likely Maguireism, make a ridiculous statement about anonymous people and then say the clearly obvious answer in opposition to seem like you're smarter and edgier than others. - AdamFrench

He's a top 4 guy....
And JVR is by no means a top LW.... Sure he could be a top line player on half/most NHL teams... but hes not an elite LWer...
Contract and location wise it makes sense. You're going to have to overpay no matter what. If Chicago is calling Lou about JVR maybe they're willing to add a bit more.. I just think he's a perfect fit. A little younger would be nice. - Arctic_AARDVARK
JvR is a top 10 LW. You don't move that for a second pair D.

The JVR for Hjalmarsson trade you've been pushing doesn't make a lot of sense to me from the Chicago perspective. The Hawks are always looking to shed salary, and those two players make very similar money. If they are trading Hjalmarsson wouldn't the best move be to obtain a player with team control, rather than a UFA in a year and a half? - BetterCallSaul
JVR/Bozak for Toews/Hjammer?

He had no issue playing 4 left and 2 righties with marincin In The lineup
Marincin still not ready and I don't see them calling up someone from the farm with corrado ready and waiting. - burn
if they do call someone up from the Marlies or claim someone off waivers then we'll know for sure that Babcock has something against Corrado.. not even Babcock is stubborn enough to put an injured Marincin in ahead of Corrado. |

People just want a new toy.
Regardless of if the new toy is better or worse just the fact that it's new people seem to like it

Either way they'll have to pay one of them.. Chicago doesnt care about 2 years from now.. their window is now..
The only thing that is killing the deal a bit is Chicago's scoring has picked up recently so maybe they dont need him as much as thought. |

They wouldn't trade Hjammer for JVR...he's on their top pairing and guys like Keith and Seabrook aren't getting any younger and they probably have a few more miles on their legs then Hjammer. |

Hawks are in a rough spot. They need a top line LW more than anything, but their bottom pair is so junk that they can't afford to deal any of their top-4. Plus Campbell is old as hell anyways (though still good). |

Yeah, Chicago is top 10 (7 or 8 I think) in scoring. Not sure adding offence is the priority. Maybe, but it wouldn't appear so. |

The same Oilers that are 4th in the difficult west?
It's impossible to compare defenseman worth to a forward..
I think you guys are under-rating Hjalmarsson a tad and possibly overrating JVR? He is playing with the Magician after all... His trade value will never be higher and if we keep him he's getting 6-7mil.. Hjalmarsson would command maybe 5mil when his contract is up. If he walks we get nothing.. its inevitable hes getting traded, for who i dont really care i just really like Hjalmarssons game and so do Hawks fans.. |

Only means he was on the ice for far more goals for his team, than against his team.. Stat means nothing.. |
