It's surprising also that people don't realize how important bees are to the Eco system.

This Leaf thread buzz has been an educational moment brought to you by...The Lums Institute of Learning, the more you know...

This, my friends, is the most important thing that we can teach our kids today.

Obesity is a full-blown epidemic today. The stat they always cite is that 1/3 of the population is overweight, and 1/3 of the population is obese.

What people don't realize is that 2/3rds of the population is unhealthy.

Teach your kids to cook. Teach them what normal-size portions are.

Seriously, obesity is the new smoking. And nobody seems to care.

I really believe that our diets are full of too much refined carbs and saturated fat. Of the two, the carbs are worse. Sugar will kill you, and I am a total sugar addict

The left needs to demand what it wants, not accept a watered down centerist version of it ALA Hillary Clinton.. If Berny was the nominee i think he would have beat Trump. I wouldnt have voted for Hillary, its just more of the same.. But im a bit of a nihilist and i dont care if the world goes to poop, because we need to hit rock bottom before we rebuild. Kinda like a forest fire.. we need the nutrients to regrow.. Politics is an illusion.

I honestly don't think that Sanders would have won. If anything, Trump could have rallied the rust belt against him easier than Hillary because if there's one thing that middle America hates, it's a commie socialist...

some things can be deduced... for example. zero scientific method being taught in aleppo, yemen, etc... for the past x number of years.
- kaptaan

You don't have a clue about the high school curriculum in these places. Pretending that you do, makes you look like an idiot.

Aleppo is in Syria. Syria is not run by fundamentalist zealots, and before a few years ago was in relative peace. They may very well teach the scientific method in their school system - I'm not sure. Islamic countries led the world in math and sciences between the fall of Rome and the Enlightenment and were also governed by Sharia Law.

yeah, but you have people from countries like that migrating here and then they become part of the consumer base making decisions and voting without any kind of equivalent to western education that values logic and rational thought including the scientific method.
- kaptaan

So if you weren't educated in the western world you are lacking ration thought?

You realize we are the most unhealty people right? Also our entire foundation of knowledge exists because of middle eastern and asian societies cleared the path...

Absolutely. Fats are a good, ready source of calories for energy (in reasonable quantities); sugars are not only the source of energy, but also have the ability to cause insulin spikes, which in turn tell your bodies to store fat (as it needs to use that sugar first to bring blood sugar down).

What I'm saying, as counter as it seems, is that sugar is much more liable for obesity than fat, because high blood sugar will cause your body to store all fat ingested rather than use it as the rich energy source that it is..

nope... Bernie would not have won.

the right side of the political spectrum would have sucessfully labled him a communist and socialist and all of the flyover population would have voted for freedom and guns and lower taxes (ignoring the FACT that the lower taxes will be for corporations and rich people)... and they would have voted for coal mines, and jobs and making Murika great again....

so bascially all the same outcomes as work against Hilary but for different reasons.

none of things matter when the electorate is ignorant, misinformed and wants to believe the great Murika of the 60s and 70s can be brought back.

the rust belt is all unionized tho.. and Berny was 100% a union guy..

Im not sure thats what it boils down to, Hillary didnt mobilize enough of the left and she kinda stole the nomination... that turned a poop ton of people off.. I think most hillary supporters would have still voted for Berny, while Berny supporters were pissed af. and rightfully so. I hope it a revolution, and a bit of a heated one...

I honestly think that the biggest problem today (although there is a multitude of problems) is simply the portion sizes are too big.

I don't have the stat handy, but there's an explosion in the amount of meals that families eat in restaurants or take-out today vs. a generation ago.

And (once again, I don't have the stats handy) the portion sizes in restaurants today are frighteningly larger than they were a generation ago.

Put 'em together, and you have obese nation.

There's a great British show you can watch on Youtube called Secret Eaters - they get overweight or obese people who can't figure out why they are fat - and they follow them around for a week. The subjects have no idea that they were eating 2 or 3 times the calories they thought they were consuming.

you're right, but i dont think Americans are afraid of socialism, they're afraid of mexicans or outsiders.. Middle America would have voted trump no matter what, but swing states turned on Hillary, and that where he could have made up the difference..

corrected.

its Beers - not Bees

- BorjeFan4Ever

Beer has all the nutrients you need

Beer is made from hops, barley and wheat, so the beverage contains many of the same nutrients that grains do, including B vitamins, riboflavin, niacin and zinc. A bottle of beer can contain 92 mg of potassium, 14 mg of calcium and 48 mg of phosphorus, all minerals that are essential to a healthy diet.

BEER IS GOOD!

Getting lectures from Hollywood millionaires about how stupid they are isn't going to do it.

- Atomic Wedgie

As nauseating a person as Trump is, the behavior of the entitled left, particularly "celebrities" has been many times worse.

Instead of reflecting on why this happened, and looking for how to effect change, they basically accuse half the country of being stupid, racist, misogynist and any other insult they can think of throwing out there.

According to these cry-babies, only they and others who share their views should be able to vote. It is nauseating.

If you brew your own beer and bottle condition it, or drink bottle conditioned beers or cask beers, the living yeast is a great source of b vitamins, the very vitamins which are depleted by drinking! It's a beautiful circle.

Also home brew is much cheaper, so you can spend less money and get really, really blasted.
