Brown and Marner prove that Don Cherry is right....hometown kids working for their favorite team. Good ole Canadian/Toronto boys.

Hyman and Matthews prove him wrong.

I'm soooo confused but I love it.

McElhinney tho... bigger story here bud. The Canadian chap takes precedence.. And thats okay because he has an audience of guys like Tool who enjoy it too much to move on.

Totally agree it could be....want to see him in a couple more games tho.

Heard a Crazy stat, that was the first game the Leafs won after trailing in the first, I mean this team is only getting better, crazy to think about that half-way through the season and still be right in the thick of a playoff spot. Really fun to watch too.

Happy to get the W but can anyone explain how that wasn't goalie interference on the first goal? The Buffalo player certainly impeded Andersen's ability to get back in the net and make the save. We saw a goal called back a couple weeks ago when Kadri slightly nudged Luongo, this looked far worse in my opinion.

Is it because Freddie was out of the net to play the puck?

high praise

Sabres have great youth though. They'll be a damn good team. If O'Reilly never had the DD incident, I would've loved having him on our team

Scored so many first period goals they haven't been trailing much this year. Saw a stat the other day saying leafs have held a lead for the 2nd longest amount of time this year.

They're fun to watch.

They're gettin restless down there eh?

This was funny:

On a lot of teams -- including the Leafs -- I bet Brendan Guhle would have been in the NHL all season

Edit: the leafs have 2 dmen from the same draft as guhle that are playing huge minutes in the ahl and putting up better number than he did in the whl. How is he going to be on the leafs if those guys aren't?

It is a scary thought.
But the kid played 29 mins last night and did well.
Can he do that every game....doubtful....but hopefully he wont be playing 29 mins each of those games.

Good article..

Great game.. Love this team.. Loved the quote by O'Reilly stating that they were hard to play against, due to the way they play and the speed..

Could a Rielly injury be a little nudge to go out and get another D-man or two?

James Mirtleā€ @mirtle
The early word on Morgan Rielly is that the injury is not to his knee. It's not devastating. But it's early

James Mirtleā€ @mirtle
I do think Rielly misses games, but that's speculating. Jake Gardiner suddenly could be playing a lot more in that No. 1 spot.

James Mirtleā€ @mirtle
Given how the Leafs are with injury information, it's hard to say how much more we'll find out. Babcock will update after practice tomorrow.
