Rielly out for tomorrow's game; Leafs D v NYR will be:

Gardiner-Zaitsev
Hunwick-Polak
Carrick-Corrado

I have a bad feeling about this...

- lumlums

I heard that behind the scenes that Corrado has Dunning-Kruge.

I know how he feels, I have it too.

ps...don't respond to this post. I'm going in to try my hand at brain surgery and it will be too hard to google the instructions and post on HB.

I'll be back in a 15-20m. I got this! Easy peasy!!!

Judging by your inability to copy and paste this correctly, I can only assume that you have already tried the aforementioned surgery, and were successful in so much that you're still alive, while being unsuccessful insofar as retaining the ability to form new memories, such as the one where you have already tried the aforementioned surgery...

high praise indeed... however interesting that there's still some bitterness about the "Leaf tank" and "Sparks"...

just ridiculous how they imply that the Leafs tanked - which is somehow different or worse than what they did.

Yes the Leafs traded away their pending UFA goalie Reimer at the TDL... Buffalo traded away any goalie that had a pulse.... just like this point, they overlook or simply won't state the obvious...

the players that the Sabres haven't or to this point at least aren't developing at the same rate... is that a club, coaching or simply a talent issue?

and how much is Garth to blame?

- BorjeFan4Ever

He also doesn't seem to understand that the Leafs were WORSE with Bernier in net.

You can say trading Phaneuf and Kessel was tanking, and you would not be wrong as the team was not literally doing everything it could to win as many games as possible.

That whole sentiment is ridiculous. Taken to the extreme, every team should trade every future asset for upgrades NOW to win every game they possibly can. That will of course be a complete and total failure, but that is what the people who accuse the Leafs of tanking are basically arguing.

My favourite part though is how many years we endured ridicule about Kessel's one-dimensional laziness, Phaneuf being the most over-rated player in the game, their horrible contracts...

So, the organization (rightly) gets rid of these guys and suddenly the same people who were laughing are crying foul that we addressed the very problems they were laughing at.

Telling you guys, its JVR for Fowler and it's happening in June
- WingmanWillie

It would not surprise me.

JVR has been great lately. His value is going up. I still do not believe he is what the team needs.

History should teach us not to get too carried away with re-signing our own guys.

The Leafs had to make decisions on McCabe, Tucker, Phaneuf. In every case, they resigned these guys at their peak value and regretted the contract shortly after.

JVR is like 7 years older than the biggest stars on this team. The time to trade him is the deadline (if the Leafs fall out of contention) or the off-season (more likely). I don't think re-signing him should even be an option.

I agree. When the core of your team is 20... You are not giving an older player a ton of cash.. JMO.

The bolded, yes. Add Panarin too.

The rest? Nope. Saad is the nearest comparable, and he has essentially identical career stats to JvR having spent a lot of time surrounded with much better teammates.

Hall fetched Larsson

Johansen got Jones

I'm having difficulties figuring out what JVR is worth...

We should see what Nashville is willing to give us.. they've been making bad trades..

Yes, very easy choice. William is much better looking than Alex, Marner skates circles around Reinhart even if you call him Samson like Garth does to make him seem better than he is, and I'm not even sure I could like Eichel if he was a Leaf.
