Strome and de Haan drop the gloves during a drill. Not much fighting, but a few hard slashes before.

Why didn't Crappy think of that!?

He knows he's on the hot seat, and he's trying to make an impression. Its no secret that he's been stinking up the joint. Its good to see that he's trying to impress Weight. Capuano was soft, and would bench a kid to "teach him". A real team dumps someone who isnt part of the solution. Enough with the unlimited chances.

I agree up to a point. My only reluctance is how crappy the youth development has been. Could a real coach get these guys to improve? Have they really hit their ceiling? Can a good coach turn them into legitimate NHL'ers? That's what I'd like to find out and that's why I'm withholding judgment on the kids. Outside of that, Strome, Bailey have been awful. deHaan, Mayfield, Nelson and a few others i think have another level or 2 in them. It's just a matter of having a system that plays to the players' strengths. Not trying to force pegs.

Cappy was not allowed to think. He had to check with Garth first.

I like Dale Tallon and quite frankly he'd be great at either GM or President. But, I personally think with this sh!t show, its going to take a bit to get things right. Why not go all in like Toronto and try and hire the best of the best. Let each guy concentrate on their respective jobs. Three hockey minds are better than 2.

Sometimes too many ego get in the way. so far so good in Toronto, but they have not won anything yet. it should work but we shall see.

I have some hope for weight if only for this reason, how many times have the isles had a crap call go against them where cappy just sits there and looks over his glasses and weight is screaming and has passion and emotion. Who went in the room in the playoffs and gave them poop? Weight isn't afraid to yell at guys and probably put them at the end of the bench. I have at least hope that he will have them ready to start a game and if need be wake their asses up when they have one of their disappearing acts

Weight already seems more like a coach than Cappy.
- ses111

Can you picture JT taking the whiteboard out of Weight's hands like he did to Crappy? I don't want Weight to be the coach but anyone feels better than Crappy!

Sorry hockeyman. Journeyman is being used as a shot against Greiss.

- ses111

If that's the case, then my apologies. In my world a journeyman is someone who has quite a bit of experience. Whether it's with one company or 20.

Im sure all of the above mentioned under the right coach or system could succeed. They're all in the NHL for a reason. The problem is there's been ZERO consistency. Bailey is the perfect example. They drafted a playmaking center, and then decided he should play wing. When he failed, they had him as a bottom 6 forward, and then now he's a first line RW????????

The problem with the isles has been Snow tries to give everyone a chance to make it. Even if they arent part of the solution its like he finds ice for them somehow. Fish or cut bait.......otherwise you're stuck in this situation with 3 goalies, 8 centermen, and young guys in and out of the lineup cause you have too many of them.

This is basically Toronto's first full year of their rebuild, and a rebuild should take a few years. They're already ahead of schedule. They're 8 pts ahead of the isles in year 1 of their rebuild. Having Shanny, Lou, and Babcock gives you three top guys to lure UFA's. I like their system......they are on the verge of building a winner.

Mike Babcock makes superstars role players for team Canada I think that alone gives him clout. What's some kid gonna tell him he's not gonna do something when girioux is a 4th liner? Also watching 24/7 the one year and seeing him coach and handle things I Mena he is the best coach for a reason it was impressive

Cannot picture Weight sitting still for JT doing that. I think Weight missed his chance to be long term coach of the Isles. I'm still very curious to see how he does. Can you imagine if he somehow guides this team to the playoffs?

I agree with you and I think it boils down to the fact that Weight was a successful NHLer. He's been in every situation and knows what it takes. To me, you need a passionate coach. These guys have been playing like they dont care. Regardless of Weights ability, i would like a completely revamped staff.

Agreed. ONE of Snow's problems is that he has his pets. He won't part with them at all, no matter what. It's an example of him doing what he wants for his ego vs what's in the best interest of the team.

When your players respect you, they'll go through the wall for you. The isles couldnt dump and chase for Capuano.

4 years ago I started calling Snow a hoarder........it was obvious to me with his failure to make decisions on his draft picks.

Not gonna lie........a part of me liked when Roy gave his son the Miyagi look (to Daniel Larusso before the crane kick), to skate down and fight the other goalie. The only problem is that act has a shelf life. But for now, Torts is up for the Jack Adams, so i guess it works......

I dont know how to paste video memes (or any memes for that matter), otherwise i'd post the miyagi look.

I'll take these guys running the Isles any day of the week. Patty L is not part of this crew so they have a shot at getting along. I love Patty and do not mean to take a shot at him but he did not make it work with the Isles and Sabres.

Centers and goalies.

I will give Snow a little credit though. I've said it before. When he took over, there were no cupboards. He has at the very least put some talent back in the pipeline.

Edmonton also for the longest time did not have the right people in charge like the Isles. I agree you cannot call Greiss a journeymen goalie anymore.
- ses111

Sorry dude but he is, besides isles, he wouldnt start on majority of NHL teams.
He's def a good backup.....

They would need to go something like 28-12 to make it. If Weight can do that then I won't be angry if he's the coach next year.
