What they write, you'd swear they were on the Isles payroll. I mean, what the are they watching to say that Bailey is a defensively-minded player? Get your prescription refilled man. - Isleshockeyman
This is Benny Hill time. You cannot be a serious sport when you have such dopes covering you.

It means he read Staples tweet. He has the same amount of success as people who have tried to kill a lion with a pencil. None. |

Duchene and Landaskog are great but let's think for a second. I wouldn't give up the sky for either of them.. Neither has had First-Team or Second-Team NHL seasons, so we shouldn't be giving up a huge package of a top4 dman, a top 6 forward, and picks/prospects for them.
They are worth some value, but if Sakic wants the moon, I'd move on.

Just to add to @FriedgeHNIC and @TSNBobMcKenzie reports on #Isles and Gallant: Permission to speak was requested before Capuano was fired.
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday 11m11 minutes ago
That almost certainly means it was not a plan of succession, more an informal talk of the sort Jon Ledecky has been conducting this year.
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday 10m10 minutes ago
Highly doubt Garth Snow would undermine his coach by interviewing candidates before the ax fell. Certainly could be, but not his style.

So I don't think there's anything imminent with naming a new coach.
Take it for whatever it's worth. |

Yzerman was with the Wings for years and probably learned a ton from Jimmy D. |

Definitely didn't take any of Ken Holland's advice, much to the benefit of the TBL. |

Keep an eye out for Mark Lamb coaching in the NHL in the next couple years. I know it's a little homerish of me since he's the Roadrunners coach. So far he does and says the right things. He's got this team 2 points out of first place with a chance to tie tonight. Their PP is 3rd in the AHL. The PK fell off after Cunningham collapsed to middle of the pack, but it's getting back on track now. He takes responsibility for the teams play. Remember, this is a first year organization. The majority of the players had never played together before this season. The biggest name on the roster as far as prospects go is Ryan MacInnis. Zbynek Michalek is the aged veteran at 34. Brendan Perlini is with the Coyotes now and will presumably spend the rest of the year up there. For a rag-tag group of guys to play as well as they are is a testament to the coaching. |

A while back a few guys in the Wings thread all told me the same thing about Holland. That he wasn't a good GM and a couple key guys leaving exposed that. I always thought he was pretty good, but apparently it was all smoke and mirrors. |

I'd like to know who the (frank) these guys are watching? I read the slop on that site from those (frank)ing idiots and just shake my head . Defensively responsible? The guy is an absolute abortion defensively. His turnovers in the neutral zone are legendary at this point. Where the (frank) do they get this shat? - Cptmjl
If I knew Capt., I'd tell you. Maybe they listen on the radio and just assume he plays defense. It's (frank)ing ridiculous. |

If the Islanders really wanted Gallant, he would have been hired already. I think their next coach already has a job as an assistant or AHL coach |

An assistant like Dineen is fine or someone like Crawford. Even reaching out to Travis Green might be worth it. |
