Some of us were ambivalent about it, but yeah, I was hoping they would sign him.
It is crazy to think that the Leafs may not be all that interested in Tavares if he goes to UFA.

Theyd sign him if possible simply because it'd make trading for a dman a lot easier since someone like Nylander or Kadri would become expendable. They don't need him otherwise imo. |

Gardiner has really turned into a decent d-man. I don't worry anymore when he's on the ice, he uses his stick to poke check well.
Zaitsev looks pretty good too.
