Do the Islanders know Gerard Gallant's contact info?

And by the way, this Grave Dancing for when a guy gets fired is really low. Have your opinions but people forget these are people's lives.

Weren't you the guy who made a joke about Auston Matthews at the expense of autistic people?
- eichiefs9

Probably. He gets his jollies trying to rile up the Leafs board, which is kinda funny when you think about him lecturing other people for their schadenfreude...

It was a rhetorical question, it was him.

So, for reference:

- Making fun of someone who makes a lot of money for (poorly) coaching a game, losing their job: Wrong

- Making fun of people with a developmental disability that they can't help: Funny

Look, I don't watch a ton of Isles games, but it seems to me that this is more an issue with the personnel management put on the ice than the coach.

I think some moves that were made looks really good and just didn't pan out; it happens.

Nobody expected Ladd to stink this bad and it looked like some promising young players were ready to take the next step, and it just didn't work out.

Firing Capuano will hardly fix all the Islanders' problems, but it's a major step in the right direction. There is likely to be some major changes in the offseason, but for now this is a really good start.

I don't think any Isles fan would disagree, but when you have a chimp at the helm of your ship, its probably a good idea to replace him.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I think he's the least of your problems. He's a good coach who's been dealt a crap hand and has grown stale in that locker room. If it was me? I would have moved some pieces out first and kept Capuano until the end of the season.

Cappy had 7 years coaching the Isles. Let that sink in for a minute. 7 years.

He may have been the "least" of their problems, but we all know that coaches always get fired before GM's, in any sport. It's already been reported that the Isles owners are shopping for a Team President that can handle player personnel operations, AKA do most of Snow's job for him.

The Isles are out shopping for a permanent coach now and there will likely be a major shakeup in the front office when the off-season arrives. Whether or not Snow gets fired is up in the air, but it's obvious that the new owners aren't going to stand for what's been happening.

Do any of them have autism? I would like to make some wildly inappropriate jokes and then take a moral stand on something trivial next week.

Well, I don't know about autism but Marner is only about 140lbs soaking wet, so maybe he has some kind of physical developmental disorder? Doesn't really matter tbh, just pick something and go with it
