Duchene for Ekholm
Will Avs trade in division? - Radu47
I doubt a massive deal like this is done in division but it is a solid offer. Problem is with Colorado not making a push and the fact that Duchene can make them pay for dealing him in division (more so than a defenseman can) for the next 5+ years I would suspect Colorado also demands a decent prospect and high pick. I would and Nashville may bite though they do not HAVE to. |

Duchene for Andrej Nestrasil, Haydn Fleury, 1st round Pick - BINGO!
I would think they would want a better piece than Nestrasil personally. |

You dont trade young talent, especially multiple pieces, just to move up a draft spot in a draft year that the Top 4 are marginally separated. A GM would get fired for that
You dont get Patrick, hischier, Liljegren are good consoluation prizes. This is the MacKinnon draft all over again. Dont get 1st overall....well barkov, Drouin, and Seth Jones are there for you. Have at it. - DDM-Coga
Yeah you don't trade up and pay the high premium when the next pieces are arguably as good. But if you can get two of them. Lol |

Probably, but they're getting a 20 year old, 7th overall Defenseman and a 1st round pick... |

Except the deal isn't that insane. You get a former 2nd overall who is 23 at a decent contract who can play top minutes with two prospects with 2nd line potential though nothing proven what so ever for the 1st overall pick in a very RNH type of draft which is still a 1st line elite center.
If I am Buffalo who would like to win now this isn't a horrible deal, especially with the cap dump. The only reason I see this not working is that Buffalo probably wouldn't mind Patrick especially at an ELC and realistically he won't hinder the goal of making the playoffs in 2018. I doubt this deal happens but still a solid offer.
I would be more interested in seeing a Duchene / Landeskog package for the 2nd-5th overall to grab top defensive prospect Liljegren. If Colorado wins the lottery getting Patrick and Liljegren for one of Duchene / Landeskog and one or both of the prospects above for that pick would be amazing. Worse case they may end up with Liljegren and Hischer, still a solid top prospect center and best defensive pick in the draft. Being that people will see this as a weaker draft they may opt to move the pick for the right return. - Steven_Dean
delete your account...this is just banana lands if you think you have to package both of them up to get a Top 5 pick this year |

I don't get why Duchene is available. The Avs seem to have a pretty strong core, they're probably going to finish last this year so why not improve through the draft? Get rid of poopty 3rd/4th liners, Rantanen is only going to improve, Varly is still a very good goalie. Don't they mostly just need better D? Maybe a coaching change (just a guess, I don't know much about their coaching system)? This team seems to have way too much talent for a rebuild, but that's just my opinion.
People keep using Hall as an example of a "change for the sake of change" trade, but Kessel is a good one too. That barely got us anything. But then again, you have Johansen for Jones. I dunno, if they can pull off one like that then I think it can work out for them, but why not dangle their 1st round pick for a top pairing D? Think it could be done? |

I suspect those rentals would be worth more than that. 20 goal depth center (projected this season) and a top 4 RHD (minutes wise anyway), I would be surprised if they don't get a 1st when traded together. |

That is not what I said. Stop being a useless troll. One of Duchene / Landeskog. How the hell would anyone think both would be the cost especially when I JUST IN THE SAME POST said one of them plus two high prospects was fair for the first overall.
Give your head a shake. |

I dont think hes "available" as in they are shopping him. LIstening to offers is how I take it. Why wouldnt they listen to offers for him. See what teams are willign to over spend or what they are offering.
I think this year the "fear of losing a Dman to the expansion draft" will be the new ?"fear of the offersheet". |

you said a duchene/landskog package first. I didnt see the other line. The shock of the first line made me quick post.
Im not trolling, just Im annoyed with hey lets trade 3-4 young pieces under 25 just to get a top 5 pick is stupid.
A team that doesnt have a good farm system and lacks prospects, moving multiple good young pieces makes 0 sense. |

Take out Spooner and McQuaid and insert Mcavoy and this Coyote fan would make that deal in a heart beat. Sadly, I'm sure that is too much to ask but man would that help out the Yotes awful and I mean awful D. |

Avs fans. Here is a Hypothetical trade for you. Let's say Buffalo wins the #1 over all pick.
Would you trade the following players for the First overall Pick, AND Matt Moulson?
Gabriel Landeskog
Mikko Rantanen
Chris Bigras
and JT Compher back
Remember its a Hypothetical if Buffalo won the first overall pick. This means the Avs would have the #1 Pick and either #2, 3 or 4. Thats a lot of high picks in the first round. - danwest58
Not even sure what to reply here, but I'll play.
I will counter your offer with this:
AVS 1st pick and Rene Bourque for:
Eichel
Reinhart
Ristolainen
Baptiste
Remember, it's just hypothetical |

Way too risky with Fowler being able to leave soon. Solid idea though and helps Anaheim with expansion protection. |
