Lazar is a bust and ceci is a dime a dozen dman. Say it man, it will be good to finally admit it - DDM-Coga
Sens fan here. Lazar so far is a huge bust. Ceci is good but not great. Turris is no #1C.
Still, the Sens are keeping me hopeful this year. Give Bobby Ryan some steroids or something and sky's the limit.

McCabe is a #2 Defensemen now or showing he will be here very soon. He is not Prospect Like Chris Bigras is and who has also seen 31 NHL Games to 129 with Jake McCabe. So that is a poopty comparison. Your better comparison would be Brendan Guhle who has only played 3 NHL but has shown that he is on the cusp of making the NHL.
Second O'Reilly is also not a good comparison because he is a Center, a Better comparison is Kyle Okposo because he is a winger and so is Gabriel Landeskog. Also Okposo is .69 Point Per Game Production and Landeskog is .67 Point per game
Baptiste is fine comparison to Compher because they are going to be good top 9 forwards 2nd to 3rd line players. Just one is a winger one is a center.
So if you did Guhle, Okposo and Baptiste for a Number 1 pick overall who is a Center and is likely going to be one of the top 10 centers in the league if not possible top 5 at some point in his career. These players do not come a long often. You cannot trade for a Towes, or a Stamakos you get them through the draft. That is why they are so hard to trade for. Nolan Patrick if he was not injured this year would be dominated in the WHL with over his 1.41 points per game. - danwest58
I wasnt actually making a true comparison trade just pointing out how ludicrous your proposal was for Nolan Patrick who is more of Nugent-Hopkins than an Eichel, Matthews, McDavid mold of top pick |

He was chosen 17th overall. You can't be a "huge" bust when chosen in the bottom half of the 1st round.
The guys chosen around him haven't done much either.
Virtanen is trending on huge bust at the moment |

thats not that hard, just the other Alfiesald is annoying, coming into other teams threads offering the same stupid proposals over and over again.
then following up with 5-6 long winded response of why the guys he is offering up have value and could all be all-stars |

good job you posted a ryan goal from 2014, when he was 30 pounds lighter and didnt have a boat anchor of a contract - DDM-Coga
Yeah, he was half decent for the first 10 or 15 games of a season back then. |

You could also say Nathan MacKinnon is also another Nugent-Hopkins, they have very close point productions. They are also both Number 1 centers that have high end talent just not Generational Talent. Still MacKinnon and NH are still very good high end skilled centers that could win a cup.
Also let's say Vancoouver got the #2 pick. Let's say they want the #1 will trade either, Tanev, Hutton, or Juolevi and the second for the first? You would be in good position. Nolan would be a upgrade over Horvat if Nolan is a .69 Point per game producer vs Horvat at .49.
Thing is Teams will do crazy things for the #1 pick. Tampa was talking about sending Stamkos to Buffalo for the Number 2. So there is always room for crazy trade for the first overall.

We didn't dev crap...... we (most sens fans) wanted Lazar to go to Bingo rather than MURRAY keeping him on 4th line with Neil where he didn't touch the puck. He went from playing with McDavid (with a C on his chest) to having good success in Ottawa but when he struggled he should have been sent down.
- AlfieisKing
you should try it sometime.
Lazar was not eligible for the AHL in his rookie season, and the talk around Sens fans was that he had "nothing left to learn in junior". Which is hilarious given that he was nothing close to dominant, and a lot of WAAAAAY better players have spent more time in the CHL.
Ceci is doing just fine. Is he struggling? Yes. But he's no where close to a bust and anyone saying that are the same idiots that thought Larsson was a bust. - AlfieisKing
Doing just fine. But "struggling". ???
He's just not very good. |

You dont trade young talent, especially multiple pieces, just to move up a draft spot in a draft year that the Top 4 are marginally separated. A GM would get fired for that
You dont get Patrick, hischier, Liljegren are good consoluation prizes. This is the MacKinnon draft all over again. Dont get 1st overall....well barkov, Drouin, and Seth Jones are there for you. Have at it. |

Avs fans. Here is a Hypothetical trade for you. Let's say Buffalo wins the #1 over all pick.
Would you trade the following players for the First overall Pick, AND Matt Moulson?
Gabriel Landeskog
Mikko Rantanen
Chris Bigras
and JT Compher back
Remember its a Hypothetical if Buffalo won the first overall pick. This means the Avs would have the #1 Pick and either #2, 3 or 4. Thats a lot of high picks in the first round. - danwest58

He can still become a solid 3rd liner that plays shutdown and even chip in offensively - MAYbe playing top 6 role - but that's a farther stretch until he regains his confidence (the biggest thing for any hockey player). But yes, mismanaged
Ceci hasn't been. He's just under-performed but no where close to as worried after getting a bridge deal.
with anderson returning from his wife having cancer.... adding a significant piece.... and guys playing to the level they can.... they could become contenders. but no, not right now. - AlfieisKing

What if it is just?
Gabriel Landeskog
Chris Bigras
JT Compher
You cannot expect a #1 overall pick to go for free just because you get a bad contract for 2 years next year and the year after that. - danwest58
I wasnt actually making a true comparison trade just pointing out how ludicrous your proposal was for Nolan Patrick who is more of Nugent-Hopkins than an Eichel, Matthews, McDavid mold of top pick - DDM-Coga
Except the deal isn't that insane. You get a former 2nd overall who is 23 at a decent contract who can play top minutes with two prospects with 2nd line potential though nothing proven what so ever for the 1st overall pick in a very RNH type of draft which is still a 1st line elite center.
If I am Buffalo who would like to win now this isn't a horrible deal, especially with the cap dump. The only reason I see this not working is that Buffalo probably wouldn't mind Patrick especially at an ELC and realistically he won't hinder the goal of making the playoffs in 2018. I doubt this deal happens but still a solid offer.
I would be more interested in seeing a Duchene / Landeskog package for the 2nd-5th overall to grab top defensive prospect Liljegren. If Colorado wins the lottery getting Patrick and Liljegren for one of Duchene / Landeskog and one or both of the prospects above for that pick would be amazing. Worse case they may end up with Liljegren and Hischer, still a solid top prospect center and best defensive pick in the draft. Being that people will see this as a weaker draft they may opt to move the pick for the right return. |
