What exactly makes this funny?

the fact that the OP seems to exaggerate every post and you always have a factual comeback.

Nothing knocking your content.

This blog title is very appropriate for me - I was channel-flipping between the Pens game and Gladiator last night!

Horny's slump?
- j.boyd919

He has three goals at ES this year. I'd say that's slump territory.

He's still on pace for around 50 points this year, regardless of whether or not his production is ES or from the PP.

I would expect Rust's shooting percentage to come down to earth a bit, which will probably drop is overall production to around 30-35. Playing with the best player in the world and all you can muster up is 35ish points? GTFO.

If I'm wrong, at the end of the season, I'll own up to it.

Wow I knew Hornqvist was on a down year, but I didn't know he was that bad...

His skill set requires him to be parked at the net for him to score goals. His biggest damage can be done on the PP where there's elongated offensive possession and he can get situated. At even strength, it can be difficult for him to come by goals since he has no hands and a bad shot.

Well, I'm not saying Rust is better than Hornqvist, but a guy putting up almost 20 goals at ES for $640K vs who may not even put up 10 ES goals for $4.25M? It's also not like Rust doesn't do other good things.

Sheary could put up 55 to 60 points with around 25 to 30 goals and Sid like to surpass 40 goals, having a guy like Rust up there isn't a bad player to have for the price. He's definitely not a major liability.

Horny is still on pace for give or take 50 points. Not to mention is all situations goal differential is 50 goals for, and 18 against. I don't give a poop if all your points come on the PP. If your team outscores the other while you're on the ice, regardless of ES or PP, you're a valuable asset.

Rust on the other hand is 28 GF and 29 GA all situations (3 are PK goals), so he barely breaks even.

At 5v5...

Rust has been on the ice for 20 GF, and 25 GA.
Horny has been on the ice for 27 GF, and 18 GA

I know who I'd rather have with Sid.

Sink or swim time for Sundqvist. Get the feeling he'll do a-ok. Or we can always put Fehr in that spot. Losing Cullen for a month isn't the end of the world.
- Victoro311

I'd probably go with Fehr. But just because we want to trade him and clear the $2 million salary for next year.

I'm just saying that Hornqvist is clearly on slump at ES. 3 goals is pretty clear evidence.

Why did you make this Hornqvist vs. Rust debate? You're just trying to annoy me

I agree, but TIOPS reported that Geuntzel is a possibility to man the 4th line. They made no mention of Sundqvist getting called up.

It did. But when all the player can do is hit, he's not very good. Skilled players can play physically, but not all physical players have skill.

Nahh it was Rino that started it. Listen, IMO Rust is fine in a bottom 6 role. I just don't think he's a good fit for the top 6 at all. I don't think he needs to be traded/scratched/sent down or anything like that. Id just like to see him in a different role.

No I didn't! I just agree that Horn was in a slump and Rust isn't a bad option in the top six! Geez.
