In other news, Afinogenov is captain of his all-star team in the KHL. Former Sabres do great things. That should be our pitch to get players to come here. Play in Buffalo, pay your dues, you'll basically always be rewarded once you leave.

again, leafs have not won a home game in regulation in 8 weeks

I know people north of the border already envision multiple cup battles between the oilers and leafs but right now they are just another team in the 15-30 range in the nhl

nothing special

its impressive that the young players have gotten them there

Not according to urban dictionary, which everyone knows is a more credible way of talking/spelling these days then the actual dictionary.

Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports Chiefs co-OC Brad Childress is "out of the picture" for the Bills' vacant offensive coordinator position.
It is not clear why he has been dropped from the race, but it is possible the Chiefs blocked the move like they did when fellow co-OC Matt Nagy was drawing interest from the Jets earlier this month. With Childress gone, the Bills are running out of options. Former Jaguars OC Greg Olson is scheduled to interview on Thursday, and he looks like the best candidate remaining.

Damn it, that is an important hire.

8-1-1 last ten ..But we like breaking streaks

- GERBE!!!75PTS

wins over
colorado
wings
yotes
panthers
bolts
devils
rangers
sens

those are teams you should win most of the time if your a fringe playoff team when there are 8 slots and 16 teams fighting for it

assuming the sabres miss the playoffs it will be due to the losses vs
canes
devils
islanders
panthers
bolts
bruins

etc

That's a bummer. I don't want Greg Olson really, but not sure where else to go at this point.

That was a character win yesterday, any team can beat any other team playing their (A) game! Sabres must continue to that for sure, cause it's not lack of talent! I mentioned yesterday that with the mix of guys no way do I believe that they should be where they are? I'm hoping some day these two teams are battling for a division title! That would be something!good luck with the rest of the way guys! After tonight of course! Lol

If Whaley is still here Tim's job is safe.

I don't think GMTM has screwed it up that badly. But I do think he has a problem and previous moves are currently hampering his ability to make a meaningful move.

- Pope of Pucks

I don't think he's screwed up anything at all. The only people that think he needs to get fired are the people expecting a Stanley Cup this year.

He's got plenty of more moves he needs to make to get this to the point where you start questioning his ability. I'd say he's 60% there.

we never went 8-1-1

3 rookies in top 20 scoring no?

One year removed from bottoming out, we weren't this good last year, even if its only 42 games.

Well okay then. I hate them but I'll give them the amount of credit they deserve right now: they're a young team and they're winning. They're playing well and their kids are leading the way. I'm envious of some of their pieces but they need to put it together for a full season. Philly is an example that a good streak doesn't make a season.

Yeah, good call on Whaley. How does that dude still have a job?? Zero games for Shaq Lawson and Reggie Ragland, your first and second round draft picks. Come on. I hope they let Stephon Gilmore walk in the offseason. Dude is the next Jarius Byrd - super overrated, and not worth the money he'll get. I could go on about the Bills all day, so I'll stop now...

A couple of years ago, Murray decided that he'd stockpiled enough young assets, and he went all-in on Kane, Bogosian, O'Reilly, Lehner, and Kulikov. The problem is that only one of those guys is a useful long-term piece. Ironically, the one who drove his truck into a Tim Hortons the day after signing his contract

Now there's a gap in talent on the roster, and very few pieces left to deal. Tough spot, but he made his bed

- AxlRose91

Horsesheet ............. they are pieces to the puzzle is all. There's plenty more work to be done.

To say he screwed up everything is dumb but to say he screwed up nothing at all is equally foolish. No GM is perfect and at this point he sits somewhere in the middle of that scale at best.

MSG is all about the Rangers/Knicks. SNY is all about the Jets. There's YES which is the Yankees channel. Sabres/Bills have some time on MSG right now but not much. ESPN couldn't be bothered with hockey in general and the Bills get talked about each year due to losing 4 super bowls and the drought but that's about it.

I get that. But the problem right now is that there's a pretty large gaping hole on defense and there's not much we can do to fill it right now due to not having any real resources available to make that kind of move now.
- HonkFortheGoose

There will be a good one in the draft. That's a start.
