you can't dump prospects on the 4th line, you need grinders on the 4th line

deslaurers and cor are typical 4th liners

not bailey, carrier, fasching, baptiste, moulson, etc etc etc

yikes, he takes a lot of heat here but you'd be giving up the best player in this deal. Potentially the two best if guhle pans out. Landeskog is way overrated if we're paying big for a forward should be a 30 goal guy.

And Colorodo's 1st round picks till 2020. Only way I make that trade, I'd prob also want Duchene, but just to move him for something.

I think you're right in TM trying to accelerate the rebuild. ROR, Kane, Lehner may be decent players, but those trades were pointless when you think about the timing. TM has them in no man's land (unless they score well in the upcoming draft).

Honestly, if he just made the O'Reilly trade, and none other, this team would have been fine. They already have issues with their top 6, and they would just be magnified without him. Even if you don't make that trade, and end up getting Laine, or even Matthews, there are still two gaping holes in that top 6.

And no, I don't buy the notion that they would have been out of the McDavid/Eichel running had they not traded Myers for an already sidelined Evander Kane.

You know Homie... My impression of the Sabres is they are a team with an average 4th line, they 3 lines full of below average 3rd line players and one line that thinks it is a #1 line but in reality is a barely average 2nd line. The defense is AHL quality and the goaltending is above average....

If you want Bogo gone you will have to give up more to move him and take very little back. He's going to be hard to move.

Kane is on an incredible hot streak, could you imagine someone giving up more than a 1st for him right now? How about a 1st +++

They do have that QB though!
The problem is the OC calls a 5 yard out hoping for YAC...and our QB fires it 13 yards.

We should look for a goalie of the future that's ready now because Lehner is not the answer, the Devils may move Schneider.
