You currently own the crown for king of the piping red hot take.

Others troll harder, but you are the most blinded by disproportionate rage.

I call it how I see it. I'm sick and tired of rooting for two loser sports teams who continue to pile on false hope year after year.

I waited eagerly and patiently for two years for us to tank and we got (frank)ed both times with that stupid (frank)ing lottery. Rewarding teams like the worst NHL fanbase in the world in Florida and the horseshoe up there ass Edmonton. Then those loud mouthed losers up North do it for one year and get the next great superstar to go with there quiet rebuild of young fast and skill players. They miraculously ditched dead weight and contracts and despite not being able to land any big time FA's still snagged a great head coach. An A -hole despicable scumbag of a person but a great coach.
Still Eichel and Reinhart and O'Rilley and Kane and lets throw in Lehner and Bogosian too. All should be better then they are playing. Eichel isn't the problem. I'm not saying that but I expected better out of this team. Maybe it's the overall talent level, maybe its the horrible micro managing coaching or maybe it's just the fact that our players styles don't mesh well together but either way it's just not working and it needs to change.

How's that for a hot take for you?

I watched him a lot in junior.. was Pissed when you guys got him.. he looks nothing like that junior player.. the times I've watched him, he's been invisible.. but I understand what you're saying.. again, I don't watch him game in game out.. only suggested it because he is very valuable.. could net a nice return on the back end ...

Orrr fire Dan and incorporate a little more offense

- Nymarnthews

Reinhart has quietly improved a lot of aspects of his game but I believe if he played in a system that allowed him to have more offensive zone opportunities along with Eichel that he would succeed more. Kind of like what Babbcock is doing with Matthews or what they did with McDavid his first year in Edmonton.

Cmon 365; stop asking in hindsight.

He designed and built the team in 2013-14. At the time "heavy hockey" was winning. 5 of 8 in the quarterfinals and 3 of 4 in the semifinals suggest he was going the right way. And Murrays "heavy" was also fast. Kane can fly. Bogo can skate. Carrier has wings.

Murrays blueprint was de rigeur - even advanced - when he started to execute it. I'm 2015, the Eastern Conference moved to faster speed kills hockey, but the balance of power was still in the West and it still played heavy.

I kinda think Murrays has been forced to recalibrate on the fly as the game changes.

- Der Kaiser

Your common sense has no place here. You could have also mentioned that the last draft class was a pretty drastic departure from his original model.

Silver lining-

The WORST thing for this team is to rattle off a few wins, and make people (Pegula) think we are remotely close to Tronna.

This team had major holes/issues, let them be exposed, so they can be fixed.

I trust Pegula

His goal scoring needs improvement. I don't know why but Bylsma doesn't have him in front of the net anymore like he needs to be. But he is an incredible passer.
- bluengold12

Nobody is in front anymore, that's one problem of many in the offense right now. Everything starts with a flip dump. From go, we surrender possession. If we send one guy in, we lose the chase and turn around the other way. If we send two guys in, they regain the puck but center to a slot where our only remaining forward (just arriving from being third man high) is outnumbered 3 to 1. We lose the puck there.

End result: the design of our offense produces no possession, no structured attack, lost pucks in the corners, or lost pucks in the slot.

But our players all suck. All of them. Because corsibputs it on them.

What is the fancy stat to measure coaching?

A telling quote: Babcock doesn't tell his guys to be cautious, he tells them to be responsible. He reaffirms what they do well. He allows players to grow by allowing them to succeed. Anderson sucked in the first period. Babcock trusted him to figure it out. Lehner choked one goal. Bylsma pulls him. Episode ensues. Team goes into doubt, distraction, discomfort.

What is the winning system, and who is to blame? We lost again by ONE meaningful GOAL. When will this team stop being so fragile, and who is responsible for the fragility?

Foligino is just not talented enough to play with players of Jack and Sams caliber. It's a waste of their talent
- bluengold12

Yep, he's a prototypical 3rd liner. Will score about 12 goals per 82 games, he hits people and isn't a liability for 12-14 minutes a night, but ask more than that and you're playing with fire.

Here's a novel idea, don't.

I know, I know. But seriously, if you get this worked up about grown men playing kids games I think it's time to reevaluate.

Sabres get that game to 3-1 on the PP and they win going away. Man, they worked it so Eichel was lined up in his spot with ROR skating to the middle, backhand saucer to Eichel and he wasn't even looking to shoot his shot. Instead he decided to see how many times he could pass it back and fourth to ROR before the puck hit a skate and exited the zone like that stupid effin video Garth or someone posted of them practicing. They want to be cute, then they get what they deserve.

And how bout a little sense of urgency when tied or down a goal instead of waiting til the goalie gets pulled? Bylsma can be the scapegoat, but I don't see how he can be the culprit for their lack of effort in board battles or horrendous effin passing.

What happened to Ennis? What did I miss? Had to listen to the game at work yesterday and missed the first period tonight?

I can't not root for them. But I can be sick of doing it. I'm in an iron clad life time contract with both teams and I get that but man.... It's just ridiculous that both have been so bad for so long.. It gets me worked up because I enjoy watching them both. I'm a competitive guy and I like to see my city do well and hate seeing A-holes from other cities bad mouth us all the time. I would just like to not be the kid who gets his lunch money taken from him every day and doesn't d a thing about it you know?

The problem is if you try and follow you're always following. You gotta do your thing and stick to it while making tweaks. Hire a coach who fits your players' styles who will also readjust on the fly and you have something. But often, in sports as in real life, ego gets in the way.

We traded a 3rd rounder for Bylsma.

Everywhere you look in this organization there is bad value. Just a pile of currency lit on fire.

I 100% agree with everything you said. Great post. I do believe Bylsma's system is horrible for this team but I agree the being to cute with the puck and not having that lethal mentality that guys like Evader have is frustrating to see out of your leaders. Drury and Briere and Pommer and Vanek would always shoot those pucks after they got a pass like that.
