The cap hit wouldn't bother me that much if he was at least helping out consistently over an entire season. It could be better, but when he's on his game, it's at least a much better value than it seems when he's not.

He's just like the rest of the team. Consistently inconsistent.

Agreed, I don't think people are aware of how good/great Marner is going to be.

However, I do think Eichel/Matthews are a lot different. Eichel is more explosive, creates more on his own.

Matthews has had a ton of "Right place, right time" goals this year.

I do think Matthews will end up a more complete, less dynamic player than Eichel
