Injuries happen to everyone. He's not less likely to get hurt because he's fast and agile. Just ask Connor McDavid...or Pat Kane...

- HonkFortheGoose

My point is, he's not more likely to get hurt because of his size and not more likely to get hurt than any other NHLer which was the comment I was responding too. Basically a jealous fan saying Marner is going to get a significant injury because he ways 164 lbs.

He is also less likely to get hurt than a guy like Lindros because he's Lindros hit everything and if someone came to hit him he would try and stand his ground(often successfully) but he's creating constant shocks to the brain for himself.

That was nothing. Also, did you really just try and compare Ennis to Marner?

The Sabres players need to make a statement. Here and now.

The statement needs to be two things:

1) We are serious about winning; AND

2) We will not play this system, Bylsma needs to go.

That starts by playing a high-flying game and winning against a division rival.

Can't do option number one

if we can't do option number two

So long as he doesn't skate through the neutral zone a la Patrik Laine, he's probably fine in that regard. But he's a young player still and they forget those things once in a while.

Hell, veteran players forget that at times and get laid out.

My point is, you can't predict injuries one way or the other. It's really just a crap shoot out there.

one more thing to think about

matthews is playing for the leafs now

assuming nylander, our first rd pick from last year, plays with the sabres next year there really is no gap between the 2 teams

I think our prospect pool is better, esp in net
I think our "older" vets in ror and okposo is better than bozak and jvr
I think Risto is better than Gardiner or Rielly

they have a better coach behind the bench and that is the difference right now

This is very interesting and was touched upon by WGR this morning....
It would be interesting to compare both teams' rosters.

I am a jealous fan because I pointed out that you have a 5'11" winger that weighs in at 164lbs. and in my opinion, is more likely to get hurt? You know it is the truth, that's why you are trying to defend it.

nah he'll match his shut down line against him. Just like the mcdavid matchup when he put larsson out there on the first faceoff

Me too Pach...I posted earlier about Eichel needing to step it up again against Matthews...exert his will upon him.
But, his track in big, big games isn't terrific...he seems to wilt a bit .
Thinking of Work Cup this year,
His last World Jrs....last game he wasn't very good
Games against McDavid...
It worries me a bit that he doesn't seem to have a higher gear for those kind of games...hence why I do really want to seem him dominate out there.
We need him to just take over games against this competitive games.

What about kadri and Komorov?.. what vets you staking up against them?
All this talk about matthews yet marner is 2 pts behind

Matthew's marner nylander and brown with the vets is far deeper and more impressive imo

Eichel is a star, Reinhart is alright now that Jack is back but that's about it really.. i will admit I'd consider taking risto over Rielly, which I would have argued before yr started.. but forward skill and depth is much better

Difference between the two rosters IMO is a Mitch Marner type

Matthews = Eichel
Kadri = ROR
JVR= Okposo
Rielly= Risto
Nylander = Reinhart
Connor Brown = Kane
Gardiner >> McCabe
Komarov= Foligno

Clarkson= Moulson

Maybe, but you're cherry picking.
I want to see the full roster comparison, not saying I want you to do it...I'm just curious.
