No, but let's just say I don't believe Kane's side of the story one bit.
- Scoob

I think he's a douchebag, in general. But from everything I read, it seems like he was innocent, and I was one of the people who wanted the book thrown at him at first. Again, when people resort to planting/tampering with evidence, I'm not very inclined to believe them.

The only thing the people in attendance missed was Danny Markov being a raving lunatic in the tunnel. Loved that guy.
- jmatchett383

Yup, I didn't see that until I saw the recap on TV when I was home

If any player is neutered under this system it is Ghost. I don't see Hakstol's system as "defensively responsible" though. There is a ton of accountability, but it is really built on the entire team playing as one unit, and defensemen are encouraged to join the play and pinch often. For whatever reason, they just cant seem to get on the same page though.

What bothers me is when I see Ghost getting minutes with Vandevelde and PEB

- YuenglingJagr

It seems like it happens a lot. I did not research it. I hate it every time it happens. Get him out there with players that have offensive ability. Maximize the Ghost!

When the mom tries to steal the rape kit and alter its contents, you must acquit.

Granted, if someone legit raped my daughter, I'd be tempted to plant evidence too to make sure he got nailed for it. But that rarely works out in your favor.

That total BS. I was a huge fan and supporter of Mason when he was playing well over a three year period, and defended him when he had bad stretches during that time. But he's been very poor for three months now, and it's OK to admit that.

Neuvirth has only played a dozen games. If he's still below .900 after 20 or 30 then he will also have had a Bryzgalov-style season.

- Feanor

Goalies traditionally can have very poor seasons and often are the most volatile in terms of statistics. Mason has actually been very, very good at staying consistent over his time with the Flyers. I haven't seen anyone around here deny that Mason is having a rough season right now. I still don't see how that makes him an eccentric personality with one of the worst contracts in NHL history. To suggest Bryzgalov wasn't brought back because he had a .900 save percentage is a bit of a stretch

I am not pretending to know what happened in this situation, but I would bet that the percentage of rape cases involving athletes that end in the completely correct outcome is low

We never Brett Myers defend players Jason Smith who have off-field Michael Vick issues in this city.
- jmatchett383

Jason smith? I must have missed what he did. Vick I have never forgiven and hated seeing him as an Eagle. Same with Billy Tibbets. Myers I was indifferent towards

He's great at hockey, but that doesn't make him a good person. From all accounts, given writer bias, he's a complete immature bumhole off the ice.

Jason Smith beat the poop out of his wife.

Vick should have never been allowed to play professional football, but once he started playing well for the Eagles, people were willing to overlook what he did.

True, Nick Cousins and Patrick Kane basically have the same past, minus the cabbie part.

You're right, money can make things go away, as can a powerful law team. I'm just saying that, in this case, there were certain things going on that seemed to poke holes in the plaintiff's story.

Still a Richard, though.

Immature bumhole, maybe, but there are plenty of professional athletes who are. If he was on this team, it'd be a whole different franchise right now. On the other hand, I don't believe most of the crap many people write and/or post on social media...unless it's Bill Meltzer of course, then it's gospel

Yeah, there is also the thought in everyone's head that surely said plaintiff is in it for the money. Wrongly accused or not...it is very difficult to get a rape conviction

MacKenzie pointing out on twitter that it was two years ago that a floundering Wild team with the league's worst SV% traded for Dubnyk, who went .936 down the stretch and got them into the playoffs.
- Feanor

I don't really get your point here. Mason, to a lesser extent, did something similar for the Flyers last season after being "mediocre" over the first 2/3s of the season. For all we know he could come out of the break on fire.

wow how did I not know that? when he was a Flyer or beforehand?

I actually stopped caring about the Eagles when he played for them. Didnt root for him. didn't go out of my way to watch games (for instance I will DVR a game if I can't see it live). I am a big animal lover. like animals for than most people

He could. However, to this point, he was been, to put it bluntly, really bad. I don't think there's any way to deny that. Let's hope he turns it around.

I don't judge these guys without proof. sadly its hard to know who to believe. the cabbie incident alone is enough to make me shake my head at Kane doubled with what people say about him being a Richard.

Both goalies have been really bad. The defense has been really bad. Up to Hextall to decide if trading for a goalie would mentally reset the team defense or they can do it themselves. Whether the goalies are expecting defenders to make certain plays or the defenders are expecting goalies to make certain saves, we don't know. We just know that neither are happening right now.

Compared to the other 20 movies that Lucy has watched for a month straight, Zootopia is probably the most tolerable to watch over and over and over... Big Hero 6 was good, too, but even movies like The Lion King and Corpse Bride became pains to watch.

We're actually using Zootopia to teach her to not judge people just because they look different than you.
