it wouldn't be impossible, especially with salary retention. Even if it is just to put him in the AHL while Stolarz is on the Flyers.
Either way, it isnt a move im clamoring for. I think they have better decisions they could make right now and also think they will be better once the realize where they are at after the bye - YuenglingJagr
It was just a wild hair brained idea after seeing they recalled Pavelec due to the issues with the two kids.
I'm not trading one of our two yet. We need to use the next month and a half to sort that position out though and then dump one I feel. |

I would like to find a deal like the Rangers made. They moved a solid core guy to get a young possible breakout guy in Zibanejad. It was a move made for the now but also the future.
The problem is what core player would you move in that type of deal. |

Everyone would like that.
Just saying your either going to give up big stuff to get Trouba or your taking back a bad contract from the team in the deal. Plus unless they want Stolarz with the big club your most likely bringing a goalie back in the deal. - J35Bacher
AMac and Mason for Pavelec and Trouba. We can throw in Provorov.
Wait, what? |

the Blues got Miller and Ott from Buffalo for Halak, Stewart, William Carrier, 1st round pick and 3rd round pick.
Mason doesn't have the pedigree which Miller had but you can kind of guess what might come back in a deal. Proably not a 1st rounder but maybe Pavelec, 3rd rounder and b level prospect?
I don't know. |

Palat or Tatar? Those guys are RFA at the end of the season and both Tampa and Detroit are slightly in cap issues? |

Well Ottawa thought Brassard would give a better chance to be playoff team.
It's a tough deal to find. |

Yeah it's not been real pretty since the lockout, especially when you compare it to prior to 2005.
67-68 to 03-04: 37 seasons
only missed the playoffs 7 times
went to the "final four" 14 times
7 Cup final appearances
2 Stanley Cups
05-06 to today: 11 seasons and counting
missed the playoffs 3 times (could very well be 4 after this year)
"final four" appearances: 2 (none since 2010)
Finals: 1 (none since 2010)
Cups: 0
So far, the cap era has not been so hot. - BiggE
Yikes that is not so pretty in black and white...

I've legitimately broached the subject of allowing my daughter to watch some more adult shows/movies, but my wife won't go for Ren & Stimpy even. Which, granted, is a pretty wild show.
But I find that using movies/TV shows that she likes are a good way to reinforce certain things that we try to teach her, such as why it's important to be nice, why you should always use the potty, why to not judge people by their looks, etc. |

Well eventually you have to at least make a push.
That's why I feel you'll see Edmonton deal at the TDL. They have to at least make a push for the playoffs for once. Can't continue to sell patience. I actually think you could see them move Jesse Puljujarvi in an effort to get a top 4 defender. |

I love Wayne, but he just doesn't have the ridiculously quick release that Kerr had. They are 2 very different types of players. - BiggE
True Kerr's hands were sick and quick...I guess I'm saying at least a reasonable facsimile there of...Maybe Wayne a bit higher in the slot then down on the goal line. |

I mean I could see that. But I am not sure he is going to get a ton more then what Brassard is already making.

I agree completely that we need more out of Giroux, and his defensive effort lately is inexcusable. With that said, I'd be willing to bet that if a stronger team was put around Giroux, we'd get more out of him. He's just no longer a player that can put a team on his back and carry them, but I bet he could still be a top player on a good team. - MJL
Shoot, if Giroux was on another team he'd come back and have a few four point nights against us and look like the second coming of Rocket Richard...but probably still really lazy on the backcheck...

He, or possibly Stolarz, who has played well, but sparingly. But yes, right now, their best bet is Mason. But if he continues to falter, and Neuvirth stays the same, I'd give Stolarz a look. - jmatchett383
I think you give it another month or so, and if the goalie situation is still the same then you promote Stolarz and give him regular starts over the last six weeks. That's what the Pens did with Murray last season.

I get that we are all pining for a cup. I've been to both Phillies parades and the sixers one in 83 but no sport has my love like hockey and I want to see a cup win in my adult life BAD. I just know what hasn't worked so I am going to be patient while Hextall tries to fix this team and builds it for the long run - nastyflyergirl
Being born and raised in LA, as a 10 year old I fell in love with the Flyers as the only coverage in the LA Times was the Bullies pounding people to a bloody pulp, great black and white images...
I worry now though after many years of hope and near misses and an utter hate for all things LA sports even the Queens/lakers/dudgers during their runs,
I'm now worried that I'm closer to a dirt nap then a Stanley Cup...

Every time that the Flyers face off against a former player, he has a great game against them. This never happens to other teams, and the Flyers never have players that score against their former teams.
I hate how we got lit up by Carter and Hartnell in our games against LA and Columbus. |
