I know they didn't do much. But again, he directly said leaving Lundqvist doesn't sit well with the team. To me that's a shot directly at the coach.

I agree. The issue I have is it seems that despite his success here it feels like he reached his ceiling and this is the furthest this team will go with this coach. There is something systemic wrong here. There is something missing from this team and it's not just a deficiency player wise.
