Callahan has 12 points in 45 career playoff games with Tampa, in 59 career playoff games in New York he had 24 points. He was better when he was here. By a large percentage.

I think there was better chemistry, a different system, and not being injured. Yeah, we won that trade. As much as I loved Cally, and it hurt to see him go, definitely for the better. That contract would have been an albatross, guess Sather did something right.

wow - that's worse than Nash...
- 21peter

Ryan Callahan was a .41 ppg player as Ranger in the playoffs. Nash is .54 ppg player. Crazy I know.

Rather have Nash for sure. Threat every time he is on the ice and draws more of a shadow than Cally ever did.

Cally had some memorable moments though, obviously he was the catalyst to the play that Richards scored the big tying goal vs the Caps in 2012 and the goal vs the Caps in game 7 in 2013 right at the beginning of the 3rd period to make it 4-0 is one of my faves

Believe me, I know that a guy making $7.8 million per year has to be more productive offensively in the playoffs. But, the guy really is a good damn hockey player. He's a complete hockey player, who does everything well. I think you have your truly elite hockey players, and the tier right below where I would put Nash.

I know you disagree on this Tom.

Let's not get it twisted, Nash still shrinks up during playoffs. As a NYR in regular season he has 207 points in 280 games. Where is that Nash in the playoffs?

He's a great no pressure player. When the going gets tough give me Chris Kreider and Derek Stepan.

What the hell does this even mean?

NHL has issued memo to all clubs/goalies saying all netminders must be wearing the "new" re-designed/size appropriate pants by Feb 4.

I'll just leave it at this. I think Rick Nash has been a good player in the playoffs to the extent he does all the little things and plays a good all around game, always. But, if the Rangers are going to come through a division with the Caps, Pens and Jackets, he's going to need to do something he hasn't done, and that is to be an offensive force in the playoffs. He doesn't do that, and the Rangers probably don't win, and it will just contribute to his rep that he doesn't show in the money games.

He used a gif of Adam Deadmarsh after he gained all that weight. So everyone just started calling him Fatmarsh instead of Coga.

I agree with you to an extent Pete. But whats the average playoff game score? 2-1, 3-2.

Every team in the playoffs tend to lock down defensively, Nash always gets the other teams best defensive pairing, not saying he shouldn't score more, but if he is usually getting the other teams best shutdown line it opens up more scoring for other lines.

Matt, I do agree. Team is way more balanced offensively then it has ever been, so in theory Nash should have more opportunities, as it is not as easy to focus on his line. I do, however, think that Nash being at his best is really necessary for the Rangers to get through that division in the playoffs.

I think this season Nash is going to be a force in the playoffs

If he stays healthy he just seems like a different guy

look, in 3 days we inaugurate a man for President who once had a Comedy Central Roast featuring the Situation and Snooki

anything is possible, and that includes Nash having a great playoff
