Well his numbers are up there with the best over the last year and a half and a bridge deal to sorokin makes sense. That along with their lack of cap space makes me think they'd want to resign him and I wouldn't be upset with it at all. With all the other issues this team has greiss has been a strong spot
- Upstate_isles

As far as signing him it won't be for 1.5 million per I can tell you that.

Damn, lets give him a 4yr extension then....

Isles have more than a few 2nd rate guys to get rid of but Greiss is not one of them. Isles have more than enough problems to work on without making a problem by letting Greiss go. Now if he wants an outrageous contract that's different.

Greiss is around or about 30yrs old, he may want a 4yr contract for security since he's been a journeyman backup

They will have to pay someone if he walks 4 years is fine 2 3 years to start 1 or2 as a back up to sorokin. He's earned it not saying 5 6 million but he's gonna get paid

I would be good with around $3. It will be really tough if he gets to FA. The guy has put up very good numbers in front of a lousy Isles team and he was key in them beating Florida. Greiss is going to have some leverage.

This is the thing. Greiss has already proven he can play in NY. You figure he will only be better if they hire a real coach. You bring someone else in and you have no idea how they respond to NY.

Ladd can play in NY. He just cannot play for Cappy. At least I hope this is the case.

Isles could barley get out of there own zone against Florida and Greiss won. They are lousy this year and Greiss is still good. Greiss can only be even better with a real coaching staff next year.

Gotta think he will get 3 - 4 depending on the length of the deal.

As far as Sorokin, this guy hasn't played a game in the NHL. KHL numbers aren't any indication of how he will do in the NHL. Plus the fact the kid might not even come here. Looking at Snows spectacular record with his Russian draft picks I wouldn't hold my breath until the kid is here and that's the earliest 2018-2019 season.
To decide on your starting and backup goalie positions because you have a prospect who again hasn't played a game in the NHL, that might be ready for the NHL in two years if in fact he even comes is pure madness. That said it's probably Snows thinking because he is an idiot!

I agree 7. I'm not putting all my bets on Sorokin. He may come over and he may paly very well. It's all an unknown right now. We have seen Greiss play very well for two years. There is no mystery with him.

I can but I do not want to. I'm really hoping this just a bad year and a new proven coach will get Ladd and this entire team going again.

Neither do I Ses, although I'm afraid his numbers have dwindled in the last two years and unfortunately his style of play mucker, banger and grinder seem to decline quicker than a faster skilled player does in this league and I think what we are seeing is that.
Now with that being said with a better coach his numbers can be better but I don't think you going to see Andrew Badd score 25-30 goals again in his career. Probably not even 20

Hope what happened to players like Peca has not happened to Ladd. Anything is possible. I would still put him back with JT and especially since JT is playing so well. Ladd has been lousy, but only 5 games with JT is dumb.

It's possible snow was told not to do anything for the future. The whole three headed monster situation is inexcusable. The fact that Halak was the best goalie at worlds and then was waived here speaks volumes.
