It is hard to cheer to lose, even if it means us getting a better pick. I think the draft lottery has taken some of the lustre off losing.

As the club keeps saying the goal is to make the playoffs, I hope we make it and if we just miss, I hope JB comes through with another solid first round pick.

Now thats a more rational outlook vs ranting on about everything under the sun.

Yeah PISS POOR.....hamhuis....zero....Vrbata ....zero Corrado...zero Philip Larson....zero Emerson ETEM.....zero Ryan Kesler.....awful close to zero...could be zero by end of season. Refuse to ask vets to waive....refuse to make impact full trades refuse to fire a coach that clearly is not doing his job.i can do this poop all day.....your happy with how this team is currently assembled? Chapoo Megna gaunce....whew difference makers the lot of em. Well done JB. He's not a total failure . I like his drafting...but that's about it
- Bullfrog77

He asked Hamhuis to waive & was offered a bag of pucks.
Vrbata nobody wanted.
Corrado rides the press box.
Larsen cost only a 5th rounder.
Etem for Jensen.
All earth shattering points in time....
Kesler handcuffed the team with his trade demand.
Now what u did u conveniently omit?

A bag of pucks is something. ETEM for Jensen...no that turned into Jenson....zero ETEM was waived....for again zero but no your right management has done an amazing job turning over this roster and maximizing it's meagre assets

I see there is a lot of frustration. As if expectation was not met. But may I shed some clarity.

1-Hammer tied their hands and Dallas screwed them over the Flames lame offer. Now the guy they traded for is playing for the Oil. And who they really wanted signed with them. A wierd affair to say the least and one that may have involved feuding owners.

2-Vrbata didn't want to go cause of prego wife and gave list of teams that didn't want him.

3- Corrado and Etem: Waiver scraps with no value and fit on this team

4-Philip Larson: a low cost experiment beat out by surprise free agent Stecher

5- Kessler: has turned into Sutter, Guddy and Sbisa.

6- Chapoo & Megna were free agent AHL injury call up reserves.

7- Guance - MG draft pick. Now getting NHL shot.

Trades he's made plenty and you see Sven and Granlund paying off. He got Bieksa etc to waive. He's now standing pat. If that's right or wrong is debatable. But he can still surprise us and deal by TDL.

WD. Well you need a replacement. Maybe he can pressure more moves in mean time.

Assembled. Well it's in transition. There are injuries. Rodin and Boucher are waiting for a shot.

Not frustrated at all...Nighthawk questioned why I thought management has done a piss poor job...so I gave him some reasons. Everyone on here has female doged about everything I just said...now you wanna say the opposite to be funny or combative or what not...fine I get how this site works. But anyone that thinks that management has not pissed away our assets for middling nobody plugs is really dreaming.

Now what u conveniently forgot...

Dorsett contract not the greatest but JB likes his grit & mentoring.
Sbisa proving to be a solid tough D man.
LE has the time to fit in while we go thru these growing pains.
Granlund for an AHLer (Shinkaruk)
Sven for a 2nd not yet in the NHL.
Miller to stabilize us in goal while we rebuild.
Sutter for all the dirty work.
EG for toughness & also needed in the PO's when we get there.
BB a real gem drafted.
Demko grooming to be our future starter.
Tryamkin for a paltry 3rd round pick.
Stecher for nothing.
JV a work in progress but thats natural.
OJ a ballsy pick for the future PP QB slot.

That all said be patient & look at the big picture.
Amazing is your word so choke on it
Awaiting your next Pratt i mean rant....

I didn't see their posts. That's what they may be doing. I gave you a breakdown over your raised issues. It was food for thought. You can take it or leave it or discuss. Your choice. As for you last thought on pissing away assets. You can look at it that way. But there are assets on this team now from players traded away.

Glass half full huh...fine Dorsett wildly overpaid and complete waste of skin....poor choice. Willie's darling. Sbisa all but gone to Las Vegas...zero. l.E vast overpayment for a guy on the down side of his career...8 mil this year for 10 goals....nice. Granlund for shine...yup looks good so far no argument there, unless he is unprotected and goes to lv . Sven for a second....not sure not convinced he has the consistency and we don't know what the second could have been. Call it a wash for now. Miller 3 yrs 18 mil to pretty much be a bottom five teaming the league.....then resign Marky to a 4 year deal at 4 mil to not play....got 10 mil tied up in goalies and we're bottom 5 in goals against....looks poopty there too. Gudbranson move I liked but he may not re sign...and if he does it will likely be another JB gem like 8 yrs 5mil per. Stetcher was a hometown discount....any idiot in van coulda sealed that deal...the rest were draft picks which I agreed was the only part of JB s job I liked

The 1st PO season & last years abysmal season have come n gone.
This the 3rd season of the new regime we r seeing some progress.
Kids r gettng in valuable playing & holding their own.
The vets r slowly getting farmed out.
The rest is in the future where all the the changes & picks pan out.
Too early to call just yet.

Now you are going on about contracts? Okay, so has this hampered signing anyone? Seems they are good with cap and offered good money to anyone interested in coming or staying.

What's one move in your opinion that would help this team the most...right now? Alot of people would say something like moving a Tanev or an Edler for a an actually impactful forward? Everyday people are begging for Duchene or Landeskog or drouin or a evander Kane. JB won't do it ...he will stick with this tired old offensively challenged team...that's piss poor management if you ask me. The team needs scoring far more then it needs another soft puck moving dman with a muffin shot.

You like Erickssons deal at 6milx6 ? Did you like Sbisa at 4 mil before this year? How about Sutter getting to 5 million before ever playing a game for us? Do you think we may have trouble signing guys like Bo Tryamkin Granlund Stetcher Hanson Gudbranson? Money is coming off the books but it's going right back on to other people

In todays cap world with so many GM's up against it by their own doing so not much.
Trading has suffered immensely & thats the way of it nowadays.
Drafting & developing is all most teams can do. Others r in better situations.
Takes time & patience & wait n see if opportunities present themselves.
As for trading say a Tanev or Edler its difficult for the reasons mentioned above.

Who is our Hall u want to trade for whom?
Besides that was an offseason move from strength eg MCDAVID
We did our move for EG. A legacy of Keslers trade demands.
Mid season without 10% cap allowance is another story.

The biggest looming problem is when Luongo retires.
MG's signing will be his legacy when we will be forced to eat it.
Summary: JB had a lousy hand to start with & magic is not gonna happen easily. In 2-3yrs is when i figure we can all judge this rebuild.

Something tells me when Luongo can't play anymore he will go on LTIR for remainder of contract. The NHL will look the other way like they have with so many others. But hey he doesn't wan to stop playing. He's still a #1. Lives there year round so will take back up role. They can't move him. So may jut buy him out which is fine too.

Heavy contract for a backup goalie.
Runs for 5 more years.
LTIR maybe but a buyout is more probable.

I hear you. Well you can be consoled that two of the last three years Canucks were real bad and got the 5th & 6th pick. Lotto losers too. The year in between they got BB in the twenties and he seems to be the best draft prospect in years. So losing lottos and high picks not all that. It's the quality that counts. Winning is good
- Nuck4U

Dont forget tryamkin, he's been a big part of the improvement in the team. Guy can seriously shut down top lines and play 25 min a game.
