Now's around the time for the Leafs rookies to hit the wall. I don't think Matthews will, at least not for very long, but that Swiss season is not very long. So who knows? What did he play? 49 games last year?

Edit: 36. So as well as the players being at a different level he's going to have to sustain it for another 46 games.

Yeah. I think they'll have 2 more strong weeks (we just came out the bye week) but expect things to go south first week of February when they're playing more western teams on the road. As long as they stay the course it would've been a good season for them even if/when they miss

The bye week is the wild-card though. That could save them. That's huge to have a week totally off of hockey, no practices, no games. We'll see. But either way, it's a good season for them.

We played a solid first. But Dallas was handing the puck to us left and right.

I'm not saying it's impossible for teams to be off, but it's as if there's no way it could POSSIBLY be because Buffalo is doing something right....They took 3 of 4 games to start the year, against good teams, and I don't remember them ever getting credit for playing well, just read how the other teams were playing badly.

Sure. We played good today. Only an insane person would say the same for Dallas. They were horrible.

I don't think I'm wrong in saying we rarely if ever win when we get another's teams 100% effort
