Not before the end of the season. I am always for looking at all options. I personally think Mason is a solid goalie. Neuvy is too but his issue is his health. I don't care who the goalie is, keep giving up this many prime scoring chances and keep playing pitiful team defense like this no goalie is going to succeed. the defense must be upgraded, the team defense must be better. the team needs to add more skill and speed. I would kill for a 4th line like Washington. I hate our bottom 6. not all 6 players of course but you know what I mean. this team has holes. that is a no poop comment. we knew that coming into the season. we all got giddy with the 10 game win streak cause it was fun to see winning hockey but take away those 10 games. not good. - nastyflyergirl
Haks been here a yr and a half. The team D is a total joke. I'm frustrated. Look at what's happening in Minnesota, Toronto, Washington and Pittsburgh. Coaching is a serious influence on wins and losses. Structure goes a long way.
I'm really souring on this staff as a whole. |

I won't even trade Ghost flaws and all. - SuperSchennBros
me neither. Build this from the defense out. fix the defense and team defense. keep drafting and developing. I know it requires patience and when you haven't won a cup since 75 that is hard. esp when most of the people on here haven't been alive for a cup. but I believe in building thru the draft and once you have the core you want supplement via free agency and trade. |

They're going to have to trade one of the D prospects eventually that's just how it works. They don't have much in terms of high end offensive prospects to come in and fill the void and they need another offensive threat badly. It's got to come from somewhere, you can't just trade Amac and raffl for a dynamite offensive player unfortunately. - FreshFlyer
Here's what I see as an eventual blueline:
Provorov-Myers
Morin-Sanheim
Ghost-Gudas
Hagg is easily the odd man out unless he suddenly blossoms in the AHL. Ghost is an offensive D man, basically a forward. With sheltered minutes and time on the second PP he will be fine...as long as the Flyers don't overpay him. The money for D should go to Provorov, Sanheim and Myers long term. Bernhardt is playing very well in the SHL...kid looks like a steal. Offensively they aren't fixing the dumpster fire that is this season and if you're looking long term think Rubstov, Laberge and Allison. Also, the way this years going they may get a top ten pick! Not that the draft is strong... |

They deserve the criticism right now. It's not all on them though. Look at the captains effort on the first Niskanen goal. Third time in a handful of games that Giroux has glided back leading to a goal. |

no it was primarily couturier's fault they lost to boston he was responsible for 2-3 goals - 2Real
JFC and 4 of the goals today fall in the lap of various Flyers, not the goalie. I'm done. you troll for this very reason. |

Wasn't dropping it all at their feet. There are lots of issues but commenting on the staff directly... they don't look like they're going to be part of the solution. I don't see that their team game has advanced a lick since they've been here. It's looked better in stretches but always returns to this seemingly unstructured mess. |

if he puts even a little effort in that goals doesn't happen. the effort on the backcheck and coverage was there for periods 1 and 2. 3rd not so much |

I can't disagree with that. There's been a lot of criticism thrown at Hakstol, most of it is bogus. Such as the lineup decisions or line combos. The breakdown in team structure, and lack of it being corrected, is a major issue, and where the legitimate criticism should be placed on Hakstol. They aren't playing like a well coached team. With that being said, you also need leadership from the players who are supposed to provide it. Hakstol isn't getting that, especially from the captain.

it would have to be for a number one over all pick or something like that
flyers 1st + 17 for overall #1
I think that was the deal Florida was asking for IIRC a few years ago |

I don't know the exact deal, but if you were looking to build for the future, he'd be the one to move. Trading MDZ, Streit, Mason, Schenn don't move the needle |

they could get a ton for G, Jake, Simmonds
but they'd be left with nothing
I'm for getting whatever they can for MDZ, Streit, one of the goalies at the TDL

Hextall has a lot of options he can take this club.
Staying the course and doing nothing I hope is not one of them however.
In the off-season:
-Does he replace some coaching staff?
-Goaltending
-Giroux. Trade or not trade?
-Bottom 6
As the defensive prospects are growing, the remaining issues on the club are coming to a forefront. Curious what he does. |
