I need a good five day break from watching this effort, or lack there of.

If the Flyers trade Giroux as a knee jerk reaction to their bad play they're idiots. He hasn't been playing well but I don't blame the guy he needs skill players to play with and Raffl and Simmonds don't live up to that for me. Give him Voracek and maybe trade for a sniper that can actually score , something Giroux hasn't had on his wing since Jeff Carter was traded.

Team Canada wouldn't even play him in the WCOH. I can't imagine another NHL team wanting to trade for him unless it's a swap of albatross contracts.

Trading Giroux would not be a knee jerk reaction if done for building a young core. There just is not enough in the pipeline to fix this roster among the forward core.

I just hate the "He's been playing" blah blah position for x amount of seasons. It doesn't mean he's suitable to the role. Radko Gudas has played well in 95% of the games he's played this season but a player who has little to offer can play well within his limitations. We basically traded Timonen for Del Zotto and I can't begin to explain that drop off. I can't begin to explain the drop off between Coburn and Gudas. It's titanic.

Also just look up and down the Capitals lineup and compare it to the Flyers. It's almost laughable how night and day these 2 clubs are.

Read? Undrafted late-blooming standout who played great on a very deep Flyers teams. He's lost a step and gets injured often.
Schenn – the Flyers still aren't using this kid correctly. He should have developed into a 2-way center. Instead he's been molded into a power forward winger who's capitalized from slot time on the 1st PP unit. I blame the Flyers coaching for this - going back to when he was brought over from LA.

Give him players to play with that can actually create offense. He's been doing it by himself for years now and its caught up to him. The Flyers need another offensive game breaker, and they have a wealth of D prospects to do something about it. If I'm Hextall I'm trading Sanheim, Laughton and a 1st for Duchene yesterday. Make a move do something to shake it up or if not at least call up some of the young guys who have the speed that is needed to win in this NHL. Leier is such a fast skater and would help this team a lot in that department if he stayed up but instead the coach insists on playing Vandevelde and Weiss guys who can't skate and obviously aren't helping the team defensively like they are apparently supposed to be doing. Give some of the younger guys a chance the vets are doing nothing to impress me at all.
