Easily win it. Hank blows

What made Hank different was his mind game, swedes do something in golf called 'vision 56' which strengthens the mind game.Always thought Hank brought that practice with him.He always seemed ready to excel today me.
Maybe he has lost that edge with the family thing going on.

I have no idea. But he looks like a shell of himself. Like he lost all confidence. That Patches breakaway he gave up, he looked like he already knew it was a goal before he even shot it.

I'm not willing to say he's done. But he sucked bad this year so far. Don't know what the issue is. Crisis of confidence? A reflex goalie who plays deep in the crease whose losing some of his reflexes? Whatever it is, so far this year he hasn't even been average.

Zero because that would mean MSG loses money, it's all about selling tickets not winning Cups, this organization is a sham

Team is fine. You score 4 goals in the NHL you win 99.9 % of the time. Hank blew it. Simple as that.

Don't despair long, let the talent settle in a bit.
The passing late in the third tells me they have another gear offensively.

The team is not fine. Because how the 1st, 2nd and 4th goals were scored.

Team is not fine cause they can't play D to cover up the swiss cheese in net, so they need 6 a night and I'm not sure that's enough

Hank looked done in the locker room, (frank) him

I'd ask Hank to retire after this season ends, it's not ending with him ever raising a Cup unless it's as Raanta's back up

They had to score on that Major. They gave a ton of momentum to the Habs.

Have to wonder if Allaire tries to turn Lundqvist into a positional goalie as he ages and slows down. If Lundqvist continues to play a deep in the crease reactionary style, there isnt much Allaire can do because he cant make Lundqvist most faster and if Hank continues to guess, its not like Allaire can have a mic in his ear telling him what to do or how to read the play.

The best thing Allaire would be able to do is start to evolve Hanks game in moving out in the paint and playing the angles and positional goaltending to take away more to shoot at, as most goalies do near the end of their careers.

Problem is with Hanks age and never being a positional goalie, you fear how long it takes him to pick it up and implement it at a successful level. Could very well make his game worse before it gets better in the near term.

Ah, I'll take your word for it. Sometimes cant teach an old dog new tricks.

Funny thing is the same thing happened with Corey Crawford. When he was coming up through the AHL and his first few years of the NHL, Crawford grew up playing stand up style goaltending and in his early years, he was really first learning how to be a butterfly goalie and it was a rough transition at first.

If you look back in 2011 and 2012, Crawford was TERRIBLE at going post to post, he had no confidence or fluency in sliding in the crease. If you watch him in those years when guys would go behind the net, he wouldnt go down, he would stay standing and literally do a 360 turn in the crease and turn his back to the play. It was so maddening to watch for an NHL goalie, but then it came out that he was a traditional stand up goalie who played positional goaltending but Stephane Waite was transitioning him to a hybrid/butterfly goalie.

Luckily today he evolved into a very good butterfly goalie now and he moves in the crease a million times better.

That being said, Crawford made the transition and worked on it in his early 20s, not mid 30s

Exactly.

Said it last night, as much as i wish it to be just mental, he has made some pretty good saves still. If not, then to your point he is too old to change his style which means he is done.

So right now we need a #1 goalie, 2 top 4 defensemen, a Center who can win a (frank)ing draw consistently, all by March 1st

I was disappointed but Hank has had TERRIBLE stretches before in his career. We're still missing Zib and that Nash Hayes Buchnevich line looks real good. I would see what a guy like Myers would cost. Picks and prospects?

McD Myers
Staal Holden
Skeji G/Clendening/Klein

Kreider Stepan Zucc
Nash Hayes Buchnevich
Miller Zibanejad Vesey
Grabner Puempel/Lindberg Fast

I'll take that lineup and hope Hank can figure it out which I believe he will.

Time for Hank to give up all the poop away from the rink and remember he gets paid big dollars by the New York Rangers to play hockey .
