he had I believe a 2nd abdominal muscle tear/hernia ... I believe two inside of 12 months... the surgery requires quite a bit of healing and re-hab..

he probably can't skate with the same amount of power or anything near it...

but.. the Island resort has excellent health care... and he's still getting his full salary...

Lupul had some type of surgery to repair muscles in his stomach/abdomen I believe and his recovery has had some complications.

That type of surgery sounds like something you don't want to (frank) with when it's over. I think he's done.

If he is healthy enough to play the Leafs could not force him not to play. Well, technically they could waive him and then have him as a healthy scratch in the AHL. Either way his full salary would count towards the cap. As it stands now they have not put him or Robidas on the IR because they don't currently need that cap space, but at any time they could place them both on IR and free up that $8.XX million of cap space.
