Of course I'm serious. You don't have to agree with everything he says but he's pretty entertaining and knows more about hockey then ALL of us in here combined. - Garnie
Plus the revenue dollars made during his segment are a bonus to the cash strapped CBC. |

He's entertaining in the same way watching monkeys hurls feces at passerbys is entertaining.
No he doesn't. If he did he would give more credit to players deserving of it. If Matthews was Canadian he would never shut up about him. I can't understand the national pride and fear of outsiders. He's stuck in his ways and the game changed and passed him by. He's used derogatory language towards certain groups and he still advocates violence. He hurts the game more than he helps it now. Time for him to go. |

*Knew. And maybe.
His mind is about 90% gone now, with random ridiculous comments filling the vacuum. It was time for him to hang up the mic a couple of years agi - now it's just sad. |

Yet he demands to be paid more than Peter Mansbridge. |

Points aside, do they look like they can keep up with the NHL pace? Because we were all certain Carrick was ready and he's been just okay. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I think Nielsen can make a 2nd pairing dman in the NHL. Haven't seen too much of Dermott because of the injury. I think they'll make a push at Shattenkirk or maybe Alzner if they get to FA. In a weird way they may have to. I don't know where they stand vs the cap floor next year.
They have over 20 mil coming off the books and no one to really spend it on internally |

Orlov might be an interesting 4/5/6 guy.
I think they will try for
1. Deal out of left field. Someone we don't know about.
2. Shatt
3. Alzner
4. Orlov
In that order.

After this weekend, I'm content with the roster we have. That may change, but right now I don't want to change a thing. |

the only obvious hole in the lineup is a 2nd top pairing dman, IMO. But yea even polwick haven't been bad lately. Crazy. |

When watching the games that the Dad's trip was going on, I couldn't help but think (I had a few wobbly pops in me), those guys are (frank)ing legends for having sex. |

They need someone they can put out there late in games with a lead.. no one they have right now is getting it done. Age isn't really a factor as long as he's not super old and is a good skater. |

Kadri's dad looks like he's a tough MF'er... apparently he has a helluva shot too. |

Carrick?
Yeah he had some good moments, but I cringe a lot when he has the puck. He needs to the 6th man at this point. I'm not saying he is worse then polwick just that if this was a deep defensive team he would be 6th man. |

They seem to be getting it done lately. For guys like Zaitsev, Reilly, Carrick and Gardiner, this has been a great sink or swim season. |

Had a feeling Eric Staal only needed a change in scenery. On pace for 78 points...back to being a first line centre. |

Well that's kinda the thing.. is it better to wait to trade a guy who inevitably going to be traded, or trade him now to bolster a glaring weakness but maybe not get the best return possible?
I think if you factor in the Leafs score with ease, JVR doesn't really have the work ethic this team demands, and he was a Burke player it kinda evens out. Did Edmonton really lose the Hall/Larsson trade? Hard to say how bad their D would have been without him.
I think if he gets moved no one is going to complain about it. - Arctic_AARDVARK
