Leafs have too many GMs. No one else knows who's in charge. This won't end end. Lou is a dinosaur and doesn't give bonuses. Will Babcock leave after this season?

don't think we even need to ask anymore...
but apparently its not sporting to point out AFTER EVERY SINGLE HABS GAME... the number of calls that go their way
it has been going on for years. - BorjeFan4Ever
Remember the Power Play the refs rescinded? That was ridiculous. |

I saw the faceoff being lost, took my eye off the game for a second, then looked up to see Karlsson looking like somebody had broken into his house on Christmas day and pissed on his kids - lumlums
Hughson was the best... all night long whining about the Leafs being dominated in the faceoff circle... don't know how many times he went on about it...
then speechless after the Brown goal.
Does anyone know of a customer feedback site/forum on CBC where we just ask that Hughson be restricted to doing Canucks games only? I don't even mind the Canuck homerism so much... but he's just bad at his job... people complain about Cherry's stick being old and tired... Hughson's worse in my opinion. He's so used to crapping on the Leafs that that is all he does.
Team makes three great passes in a row and don't complete a cross ice play because hit bounces off a stick ...and all he can talk about is how so-and-so couldn't handle the pass.
And lost faceoffs.
Boring. |

there was at least as many hooking and interference calls in last nights game THAT WEREN'T CALLED (both ways) than took place in the Rangers game... the officiating is SO inconsistent... except when it comes to the Habs. Then its remarkably consistent. |

Mainly Buffalo, Vancouver, some Chicago, Pitts and Philly fans, Simmonds, most likely Berger, Iggy, Alfredsson, QuickSCF, possibly the Habs triplets that hang out in here, maybe Fake? Bob "the Clown" McCown, Vantel's mum and Spatso dreamt it one night |

What a shame. Kapanen had a chance to make real impact next time Leafs lost a winger to injury.

Even when they won a faceoff he had to mention that they haven't been winning faceoffs.
They will talk about any stat in the game the Leafs aren't doing well in. And they will pick a player and obsess over them all game long.
It's pretty pathetic. They listened to the fans on Healy.

It is my number one grievance I have with HNIC.. they make the games as least enjoyable as possible for us fans. The sad thing is that we have the power to organize and inflict change, but we never will. If they still give the xenophobe that is Don Cherry 15-20 minutes of airtime I can't see them being too worried about Hughson. CBC specializes in marginalizing younger people.
I've actually started a petition to get him removed, but none of you guys signed it lol. I'd do it again but only if I get help.. maybe it'll pick up steam this time. |

That was an absolute sick goal. Gives me the feeling as Matthews matures he'll be able to change the outcome of a game with a single shift. |

I understand why some or many people have issues with what Cherry says... but he's not calling the game. You can chose to change the channel or go get a beer or whatever when he comes on. Hughson and Simpson suck at calling the game - and I've tried muting them and listening on the radio - however I don't often get the two in sync.
I do disagree about the marginalizing the young people however (and not just because I'm old). They tried uber hipster Strombo... and it didn't work ... mostly because he really isn't young enough to appeal on a personal level to the youth and secondarily because he knows nothing about hockey not to mention sports broadcasting. To be respected as a sports journalist you have to have a relationship with the players... and how is some recently graduated doink going to appeal to either the mature or youth audiences. Not easy to find for sure...
but simply putting a guy or gal in hipster clothing and parading them in front of a panel of experts with some flashing stage lighting doesn't cut it.... and broadcasting hockey is not like broadcasting NFL football or baseball.
hockey fans tune in for the games primarily - not the half time show - so its the delivery of the game commentary that matters most.

I tune in for the comedy. He used to be a great hockey guy.
Now it's just funny Andersen is having a great season and he's not talked about him once.(he's from Denmark)
Mcbackup gets plucked off waivers and has a good period and he raves about him. (London Ontario,Canada) |

Still love tradition though and cherry to me is tradition. I don't mind him at all, mostly because I don't feel the need to agree with all his opinions. He's entertaining unlike most. |

Sitting in a playoff spot, with games in hand on a lot of teams, rolling at the halfway point...this is a stupendous state of affairs if you're a Leaf fan.
How about Kadri with 18 goals? And actual goaltending. Andersen has been all-world goaltending actually.
You know it's good times when you look at Nylander's numbers and he's supposedly the rookie that's kind of 'in the doghouse'.
Those three kids on three different lines...it's brilliant, but then when you put Nylander and Matthews out as a combo they are a deadly combo as well.
This cat is one happy Leaf fan man this is the poop. |
