Hakstol > Babcock

Flyers prospect pool > Matthews/Marner/Nylander.

Much brighter future in the 215

- PLindbergh31

To be fair,
Provorov > any Leafs Dman or D prospect

Totally agree with that. But the Leafs wouldn't trade Matthews from Provorov straight up

Only 4 teams in the Eastern conf. have a worse goal differential than the Flyers. This is not a playoff team
- BiggE

They will be picking in the top ten next draft if they don't get their team D together.
So many of their turnovers turn into goals or great scoring chances.

They were outclassed by a large margin today and tomorrow likely more of the same.

Hexy has a lot of work to do.

Thank god Streit suited up again. The NHL game has actually evolved beyond his capacity. Injuries, powerplay quarterbacking ability, and veteran experience aside, the game has just passed him. He was never fast, strong or terrific defensively. NHL gameplay is a young man's game and increasingly it's a high skill and speed game. Dressing a player like Streit who's essentially a traffic cone is just asking for trouble.

The Streit contract will be eaten fully by the Philadelphia Flyers. He is not tradeable.

The Giroux contract is really starting to concern me as well.

Leafs have tons of high-end skill up front beyond Matthews.

Thats a bit disingenuous on the prospect line..

Yes I would take the Leads forward prospects over the Flyers.
I would also take the Flyers defensive prospects over just about any team in the league.

If this were the 90's or early 2000's a trade would have been made already.

Something bigger than scratching a player for a game needs to happen. The Flyers are in a free fall right now. Giroux hasn't looked elite or even all-star this season. He had some moments in November the beginning of December but mostly he's unnoticeable and shows up here and there in his PP specialist role. Jake has been dominant and shown his top winger in the NHL status this season but he's been quiet and playing uninspired hockey for a stretch now. Gostisbehere, in my opinion, has been micro-managed horrendously by the coaching staff, deflating his confidence and turning a player who was a constant threat on the ice every game last season to the player we see today sitting in the Cote Suite.

Voracek looked loud today.

I actually felt like Streit improved the PP today.

Matthews today... Is playing much better hockey than any Flyer forward.
The Flyers do not have a forward that can go out every night and cause trouble and create chances. Giroux used to be that guy.
This team needs a change, I am for trading a core player. Don't know who, but this team needs a change. Lackadaisical and inconsistent are two adjectives that describe this team night in and night out.

Giroux 10 games without a goal that's horrific from what some here call the best player in the world

Talent has nothing to do with guys not moving their feet or hustling on the back check. I can excuse a lack of talent, but not giving it their all is inexcusable
- BiggE

That's not the coach's fault either.

I don't believe Hak preaches to lazily backcheck, or to drift out of position, or to not cover their assignments. It's up to the players to execute. If your players are not willing or able to bare down and play a complete game, night in and night out, what options are Hak left with?

If it's a systemic issue, that's a completely different discussion.

We don't know what Morin and Sanheim will be. Hopefully at least solid second pair guys. Provorov looks the part of a future # 1 stud. Ghost has a lot of skill, but he's never going to be anything but average defensively. He can't keep being a healthy scratch. Is serves no purpose.

Not a single person here has called Giroux one of the best players in the world since he was playing that way 3-4 seasons ago...

It's as ridiculous to me as claiming that Neuvy didnt give up any bad goals today.

When almost every single draft source, expert, hockey pundit, writer , whatever takes your pick praises the high end defensive prospect pool the FLyers have their has to be a reason.

I am 100% with on sitting Ghost..
