this is sad haha.

the defensive lineup without letang and dumolin is probably the worst in the league.

they are perfect for crosby other than the ability to actually finish. every shift is a prime chance thats usually flubbed.

Rust is trash on the 1st line. Dudes a 4th liner. And needs to be on the 4th line.

Not a very cohesive or talented defense that can support an attack first mentality.

They're taking too many risks. This reminds me of the team under Bylsma. So many poor passes and crappy pinches. How many of those blind backhanded passes have been picked off lately?

Seasons have their ebbs and flows, but they're terrible right now. You can't be so careless missing your top two Dmen.

Pens have lost their most recent games against Buffalo, NY Islanders, and Now Detroit.
Record of 8 wins and 12 losses (incl OT) on the road.
Pathetic Penalty Kill
A goalie that everyone loves, but who for all his athletic talent, hasnt made a timely save since 2009

Not good indicators moving forward, especially since it will be very hard to snag a home ice position in this division, especially when you blow games to the likes of Detroit, Buffalo and the Isles

These refs are a piece of poop. That should have been an interference call for the late hit on Sid. The puck was way off his stick at that point.

Banged up or not, no excuse to lose to those 3 teams.

And why is it tha the Penguins are ALWAYS banged up? Seemingly every year?

When was last time Crapitals were banged up? This season, that bunch has lost fewest man-games to injury...

If Letang injury is long term, we are toast.

Yes it's not now that counts, it's frustrating as fans to lose against teams we 'think' we should beat, but it's the playoffs that count.

As I said before, for light relief go look at the game stats for Niemi!

Well I was not going to comment but I just have to. MAF has got to go. How many times does this idiot get caught out of the net and give the puck away that leads to a gift goal. He was flopping around like a cod fish tonite and I am just sick and tired of all the excuses for this guy. If he wants to play another position, he should go to the minors and try out. But his GAA on the road is disgusting. Four Goal Fleury tonite turned into Six Goal Fleury without much effort. Time to make some changes Call up Jarry or DeSmith FLEURY has got to go . Maybe we should give him a new nickname maybe FLOUNDER

Unfortunately, we really can't pin all our bad play on that. Prior to Letang's injury tonight, we've had everybody but Dumoulin since the break.

I do think a lot of it is motivational issues. I think they just want to get to the playoffs.

There are things that legitimately concern me like the second pairing, the PK, and why Rust is on the top line. But overall I just don't think they have the intensity for January hockey when they know they already know their best is good enough.

If Tanger is out for another 'period', that may force JR's hand in getting help on D - unless somehow Pouliot can take any type of step forward.
