Devils play like team Finland ...clog the nuetral zone ...plus they had their road warrior kinkaid in net ...5-2-1 on the road now with a GAA just over 2 ....Keith (frank)in kinkaid

Just own it, you are trying to come up with excuses. Its all good, you got beat by a better team.

So trade him. He's been great but you're not keeping a 31 year old guy and exposing two good young 23/24 yr old players like Baertschi and Grandlund.
- LeftCoaster

But WD loves him.....hes a really good player for us.

Nah ...they played bad and were beat by a team below them in the standings ...that happens sometimes ...they have beat teams above them in the standings too ...which happens sometimes

It's really simple, at least to me...

Forwards: Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Loui Eriksson, Brandon Sutter, Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi, Markus Grandlund

Defence: Alex Edler, Chris Tanev, Erik Gudbranson

Goaltender: Jacob Markstrom

Benning is in charge of player movement, not Willie.

3 or 4 weeks ago you didn't care who Vegas took.
Anyways, try going through cap friendly and see if there are any teams that will have room for players, I have done this and found maybe 2 teams, and only 1 that might be able to take Sbisa and bump out a different defenseman.

I still don't care who goes. I just want assets back for the players you can't protect. Sbisa Granlund or Sven will never have a huge impact here but it is stupid to let them walk for free.

You have to expose someone though.

Agreed. I won't be expecting big returns for them as too many teams are up against cap or are.also trying to do the same thing with expos able players.

The masses will go silly in here, which appears to be a daily occurrence at the best of times.

Exposing Hansen would also basically ensure that Dorsett is not selected.

So today it is Sbisa & Hansen, we have Miller and Burrows on expiring deals so now at 4. Anyone else.
Some times you get to sign a player for free and sometimes you lose a player for free.

This cap Era has ruined fan bases everywhere.

Jimmy B has proven that picking up assets for ufas at the deadline really is a weak spot in his skillset. 3 years in and he hasn't done poop with the deadline yet...

Probably just me, but I get the sense that other GM's feel they can take advantage of Benning because he's overpaid for assets he wanted. Could prove difficult for him going forward as no one wants to be the first GM to lose a deadline deal trade with him.

UFA's are a waste of $ and cap space, plus it handcuffs the team (see LE). Trades are pretty well a thing of the past with the new NHL. All GM's are in the same boat.

They still happen but usually anything major goes down in June July or August.
