Playoff's aren't a must for me. Build to be better next year is more important.
- VanHockeyGuy

Exactly…making the WC to get pounded first round makes no sense other than for the Aqua-feenies 2 home PO games.

Even when appearing to be complimentary, he still appears to be a passive, aggressive, condescending asshat.

Tough road ahead

Credit where its due. WD and co have stuck to the plan and have had some success. They actually seem to have a style of play and a decent defensive structure. The in game gaffs bother me to no end but the team is playing for him, he hasn't lost the room.

He will get signed...as Matt Martin once said, I'll take him on my team any day. Guy is a champ
- CanuckDon

Young team moving forward he is exactly the guy you need on the back end and in the locker room imo.

He is like a few guys in the media, all they do is come up with stuff to get reactions out of ppl. Like Dave Pratt.

But I will say sometimes they do come up with stuff that makes you think there is something to it.

I am not saying I think we are a playoff team, but wouldn't you want the youngster to know what's it's like to win? What it takes to make the PO in the NHL? I think our goal every year should be to try and make the PO.

Both Edmonton and TO actually won lotterys, the guys they got our elite players at 19. That doesn't happen in every draft.

look at the last 2 seasons...nothing. Its Jarvis that came in a gave a decent defensive structure. Remember there are several coaches, why does WD get credit for propensities???? Its clearly another persons credit.

And the room is controlled by the Sedins and they get everything they want, why wouldn't they want to play for him?

I said and co. He is still the head of the room. I m not changing my stance on him, I was giving him cred for sticking with it bring in the right guy/guys into the fold. He has adapted to survive. For that he gets credit.

No they don't. They create sh*t-storms purely for reaction. Everyone from the Canucks must have to be constantly swallowing back small mouthfuls of vomit every time they do an interview on 1040.

Personally I don't think the playoffs should be a building team's goal, hear me out on this, I think it should to play the right way (in all three zones), to play with structure as a five man unit, to draft and develop and to continually get better as individuals.

If you keep adding quality young players to a group that plays well together, the wins will come and the playoffs will follow.

If you just say our goal is to make the playoffs you can make poor management decisions grasping for something that isn't within reach. I'd rather they made the playoffs with an actual chance to win.

Good points for sure. However I would prefer the youth to be backed by a team that can 'actually' win in the PO's if possible. Doesn't really do us any good to get our youngsters to the PO's to learn how to lose 4 straight.
I agree goals should be the PO's but reality seems to set in pretty early in the season in this league. No point in trying to be something we are not and even though the west is up for grabs I am not a proponent of make the PO's and 'anything can happen'…very very very few teams in the past have actually made that theory work…and we for sure aren't one of them.
Bottom line is picking top 10 for the next few seasons is exactly what this teams needs to get ready for post-Sedins…it's just reality.

Ok, then answer me this....The Sedins said that they will not let anyone displace them from top line min and top PP time, there are guys producing better then the Sedins but still don't get the extra playing time, why? Why then do they still thrown out there as much as they do?
