How do you not get how this works yet? If you produce, you sit in the press box. - Isleshockeyman
Oh i get how it works with the staff.......they do the opposite of what makes sense. It was more directed to fans who called Mayfield a minor leaguer, yet he's outplayed some isles regulars. |

Why are you convinced Snow is a narcissist? All of his moves can be explained by him simply being a bad GM. It could be that he isn't that smart. Maybe he made bad personnel decisions for whatever reason and surrounded himself with people that aren't suited to their jobs. Maybe he let's his feelings get in the way of doing the right thing for the organization. There could be a million reasons to explain it. - JimmyP
Bingo. Other than Wang wanting a yes man, what gave ANYONE the inclination that a back up goalie who's never done anything would all of a sudden build a winning NHL team? From what winning does Snow have to go on? |

That's what I said in a previous post. He's too dumb to know that he's stupid. He thinks he's the smartest one in the room. The 3 goalie thing was purely ego. What other reason would you keep all 3 then only play 2. Then to have a press conference and say, essentially "because I want to". Even now they're not playing Berube. WTF? |

The problem with the three goalie situation is a lot deeper than Snow admitting he screwed up. He put all his eggs on Halak to be the starter, yet his starter has had big injuries each year, so as insurance he kept Berube. The whole situation is just another nail in his coffin. Its another example of his decision making going the wrong way. The best part is now his starter was waived..... |

Funny, when the isles drafted Reinhardt he was the top dog, and Pulock was just a hard shot. Then we actually saw that Reinhardt couldnt skate, and then Pulock was the next big thing.......now he cant even crack the lineup. So now its Toews? Give me a break.........its 10 years in, and the isles have yet to draft a top end dmen (minus maybe Hamonic). - kindlyrick
Well toews is a 4th round pick that's really developed and pulocks been hurt I think that's his real issue |

Hard to argue I mean he's not the most fleet of foot but so far he hasn't been killed from it |

Look its great that Toews is developing......but lets be honest here. There's too much dead weight on this team to fill in young talent. Case in point is Adam Pelech. Everytime he's been brought up he's played steady. Im not saying he's the next coming, but its been two years now that he's not been outta place when called upon. So.......fish or cut bait with him. Its the same story over an over. Pulock looked liked he belonged last year in the playoffs, yet he couldnt make the team outta training camp?????? |

You can't say they haven't drafted a top D-man because this group dumb fvcks doesn't know how to develop talent. Once again, you can't tell me that in 10 years of drafting, besides JT, that not one of them have first line talent. It's either really, really piss poor drafting (which out of Snow I could see) or no development system.
Maybe none of the defensemen drafted will amount to a top d man, I just reserve judgment on all of the prospects until a competent staff is in place. |

4 pts in as many games for a dman, should be earning some playing time. None of us are scouts........he's a big body with a long stride. He's not gonna skate like Hickey whos stride is shorter. Again, im not saying he's the answer, and neither is Pelech, but how many guys do you need that can come in and add to the team, while others just coast? Seems like there's more than enough overage to make trades.....and yet we sit and watch. At this point, i'd rather he not do anything......but i'd be happier if there was something publically stated by the ownership for the long term. |

I hate to say it, but for the most part, the drafting has been eh at best. Yes there are some legit talented players that were drafted, and yes the developing is non existant, but there's simply no excuse for the Kirrils, and the Ho Sangs of the drafts. Point being, im tired of a GM who thinks he's smarter than 29 other teams. |

Yeah he was a waiver exemption then was hurt I guess it's all stupid as he was great in playoffs and made the pp dynamic. As for toews sometimes you get lucky see lundqvist he was drafted 205 overall - Upstate_isles
Im all for getting lucky......i mean if you or I were drafting, im sure we'd get lucky at some point. But, there's been too many misses, and not enough luck for my liking. |

Ladd and Clutterbuck prob are politely being shown a seat for a game. The irony here is that the isles after ten years of drafting, are calling up the likes of Gionta, and not MDC or Ho Sang. Not saying the prospects are ready, but the fact that they're not speaks volumes. 10 years in and you're calling up a journeymen????? - kindlyrick
I agree. Other teams like the Rangers seem to be able to call up better players from their farm team. |

I'm not sure the drafting was even bad they were picked as top 5 system for the last few years it's the development that blows |

Reinhardt, and Strome suck......and Nino was no great shakes either. So to me, their top 5 picks have sucked. |

10 years in, and you should be having top end talent chomping at the bit for their shot. Not benching them for being late, and going with a tryout journeymen. There's just so many things wrong with this team.... |

Just typical.....im not even surprised. Cause "the other" Gionta is gonna bring the isles to the next level? - kindlyrick
Oh and they needed a spark so beau was allowed out of the press box, now if he provides a spark shouldn't he play all the time? He seems to score or get assists in games and plays hard but yet he's the one who sits. As far as I'm concerned prince is odd manot out |

I agree with you......i've literally said this for 5 years now. The isles and or Snow do not know how to build a winner. He's never been able to make decisions on guys being part of the future, so instead he's hoarded at every position. Prince and Quine are the same guy......and they rotate them along with Beau, who's a legit talent. Im past disgusted at this point. Im not gonna sit here and say I told anyone, BUTTT I called this sh!t from week 2. ha |

Not to play monday monring quarterback here, but ironically Snows first move as GM backfired, and at the time everyone loved it, but that was very telling. The Ryan Smyth trade was good in the sense that they dumped three busts for a proven leader to start a rebuild. But, the inability to sign him was the start of a long road of dissapointment. There's been too many fireable offenses for Snow at this point. He's no longer welcome. |

I at least give Garth credit for being aggressive there and they did everything they could to re-sign him. Like you mention, they hoard every prospect now. I have no idea why they even bother when they never give guys like Barzal and Beau a fair shot? |

Lets look outside the box here.....its a blessing that they havent really had the chance to ruin Beau and Barzal, because BOTH are legit talents.
My point in bringing up Smyth, is that they were missing something in keeping him here. Whether it was lack of talent, or just the circus of the owner/management. Either way it was the first of many failures and a sign of things to come. |

That's why it would be better to have Pulock, MDC, and Ho Sang stay in Bridgeport this season so Cappy can't ruin them too. Hopefully by next year when there's a new coaching staff, they'll be able to take the next step. |

Im already done with the Ho Sang experiment. Benched for being late in Bport. |
