They are going to be a lottery team with the current roster. I don't see a way they can drop down to 1 or 2 no matter what they do. There's simply no plug to pull.

Risto is in fact a solid above average number 2. He needs a smart defensively sound puck clearing top LHD. A Toni Lydman or Jay McKee.

Jake McCabe is likely a second pairing guy who would be paired with an offensive defenceman and allow him to solely focus on his defense. Bottom pair should be two non descript boring defenceman who you don't rely on to score but know then can keep the puck out of your zone. So pretty much we have two defenders on this team and five (Counting Gorges) Jokes. I'm not even counting Kilikov because the guy hasn't played any (frank)ing games. I'd keep Fedun as a number 7.
