I guess that's true. He did fine in the top 9 last year. Really helped the 3rd line. I thought he was a good help to the 2nd PP unit too. Never understood the sentiment that the team needed to get "bigger" when it was obvious this team needed more skill.

He had his hot streaks and solid moments but in the end he didn't do enough to justify a contract. I have no issue behind the logic of Hexy's off season moves, even in hindsight. Neither player has lived up to his thought process but I think Weise is starting to show what he was brought in to do. Gordon looks to be a swing and a miss.

Honestly one doesn't have to be a pro coach or GM to have an opinion on players. 25 and 13 have been with the team all season and Leier for a stretch of games. Not being a so called expert doesn't mean people don't form opinions of players. I personally dislike the makeup of the 4th line. is it make or break for the team? no. but all 4 lines of forward and 3 lines of defense are important to some degree when it comes to building a cup contender.

I have an issue with VDV, as an NHL player. I don't think VDV makes or breaks a team, but I do think that the coach overrelies on VDV. Your infatuation with Claude Vilgrain is becoming scary. Why don't you stick to current players like VDV?
