I think Codes' point though was that WD seemed to handle Bo really well. He went from very little ice time, protection against other team's top lines, and now he is only behind Sutter in forward shifts per game, leads all forwards in shorthanded icetime and really leaned on in all situations.

Megna is a little older, so maybe WD is using him to protect the rest? Or perhaps he was the best of who was available since Bo-Sven-Burr and Granlund-Sutter-Loui were playing as solid lines?

who knows what WDs thought has been. Most of us are puzzled by most everything he does

Horvat was a player that could develop 4th line, Boeser likely will need to switch between 3rd and 4th line. I see Virtanen having a wake up call and coming into camp next season wanting to stay. I am also tired of seeing our 4th line playing solid minutes in the last 5 minutes of a game when we are down by a goal. I saw them get 2 shifts in the last 5 mins(1 being at around 2m30s) of that game. WD is probably the only coach in the league, possibly history of, that makes that call. 3 players with a combined 4 goals on the season are no going to tie the game for you.

Scorers like BB must get 1-2 line duty to succeed but will move around during an 82 game season unless he exceeds expectations.

Good point on BO. He was brought along slowly as he should be & look how he has grown. WD is no dummy & BO does not complain. Future captains have character & BO is just that. He understands perfectly well what is going on & continues to get better with WD at the helm. This is important.
- Nighthawk

I am a huge Horvat fan (as you can see in my avatar). The way he conducts himself, his drive, the way he prepares, the way he doesn't complain, he is just a natural born leader. I would have sulked if I knew that I would be playing under 10 minutes a night, with Kenins and Dorsett as my wingers, especially when his +/- stats were sinking to scary levels, but the kid persevered.

Maybe so but we r not far removed from last season when nearly all of Vancouver jumped all over the Canucks season. Ignore tanknation. We played the kids a ton out of necessity while adding tons of key injuries to the equation. Now if ppl truly want change they cannot go to the well & regurgitate the past which they will. Fickle fan will strike again like a broken record. If the vets r here to stay u play them in key roles. WD won't go thru last year all over again. Patience has been mentioned here many times yet too many folks here do not exercise what they preach. Facts r we r still rebuilding on the fly like it or not.
- Nighthawk

I will contend that the people that mention patience, are not the same people that are screaming for a change after every game.

The same individuals are calling for change every blog, they feed of each other, while the rest of us maintain a low profile and maintain patience.

Where do you think the drama queen, circle jerk labels came from..

You know Bo and Megna play different positions right? Cant really compare their roles (not to mention he is only behind Sutter, Sedins and Eriksson in forward icetime per game).

I would understand the beef if Willie took Sven away from Bo to play with the twins, weakening Bo's line, but putting Megna there was a benefit to him instead keeping a hot line together

- WhiteLie

Having Megnas speed for puck retieval is why he on the Sedin line.
Furthermore balancing lines helps rolling 4 out is my take.

Meh. I wouldn't be crushed if Boeser didn't make the team out of camp and played in Utica. Lots of players like Boeser need time, and if they deserve 1/2 line minutes, then for sure give it to them, but it shouldn't discourage anyone if they play down the line up. Schwartz and Fabbri are two names that come to mind, players that either spent time in the AHL or made the team out of camp, but both were 3rd and 4th line guys who worked up their minutes.

ya thats the area I was referring too, right be the skytrain. Crappy area, might as well tear it down and put up something cool. Surrey doesnt have a lot of $ in its population bro. Sure there are a few upscale areas but generally surrey is low income. Abby too, but you'd get people from langley as well.
- SMBDragon

They are building highrises to create a "downtown core", that location would be 2km down the hill. And it would kickstart a revitalization to eliminate that crappy area

I think you might have been out of Surrey for a while, its growing :
As of 2010, the median household income of Surrey was $67,702, where 29.4% of households in Surrey earned a household total income of $100,000 or more, which is above the national average of 25.9%

Also people=revenue. Advertisers and corporations would invest, same with the taxes they could collect. Its becoming more densely populated, and they are building for it. It would be a good spot for a facililty

Last year we lost because the youth wasn't ready. This year we win because of the youth. There is a big difference between this year and last. Our youth all see ready and capable this year, unlike last.
- Retinalz

Very true & BO was groomed properly into what he is today.
JV got treated as he deserved & is in Utica to round out his game.
The vets play for a reason for consistency & mentoring.

BO is young & intelligent. Sulkers go nowhere if no results. Many players coming up learn that or never make it. Not long ago Drouin thought entitlement was his right but he was put in his place. Maturing is every bit as important as talent. Eg JV.

Only the exceptionally rare players get top line minutes.
Anyone who can earn it & produce will get the chance.
BB will get his shot but its likely he will be up n down while he learns how to be a pro like the vast majority of kids. We will see what he can do but high hopes aside expect some growing pains.

The lemmings will always be here...
Repeating what the media feeds them.
Living in the moment without seeing the future.
Bringing up the past as if it matters in the present.
On & off the Bandwagon they will be ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I like the many posters who use original thoughts more so.
Agreeable or not its more fun.
