I like Hex but he should have called out that bottom 6 he's done jack poop to address. Where is the secondary help? G has carried them for years, I'm not blaming him. He's been ridden hard and isn't the same dude. That's okay to admit. - flyer_nutter
As a GM you don't call out players who play hard and with effort, for lacking talent.

I'd sign on right now for Sanheim to be a Bouwmeester clone. |

It doesn't at all surprise me that some fans are ready to bail on Gostisbehere. Overreactions to a young player who is going through growing pains, is a staple of the fan base. I won't disagree with anyone who says that he has struggled this year. In my mind, it's not unexpected. The NHL is a tough league. They learn about you, and find ways to attack and defend a player. That can be a tough thing for a young player to experience. Especially with the season he had previously. Hell, last off season I was talking about Gostisbehere being a 20 goal, 50-60 point defenseman. He may still be. Gostisbehere definitely has short comings in his game. Most of which, can be corrected with experience and coaching. In my opinion what coaching and experience can never give a player, is the raw hockey sense, anticipation, and puck skills that Gostisbehere possesses. The ability with one quick move or fake, to instantly beat a forecheck, and start a transition up ice. The ability to read and anticipate and break up a play. Can't teach or coach that. He has it. Anyone who wants to bail on Gostisbehere now, is simply nuts. - MJL
Lets not trade anyone with God given talent
I bet we could all pen a similar paragraph about jeff carter. |

You missed the original point entirely. Just because you're trading a player doesn't mean you're bailing on him. |

All kidding aside, I'm thinking JayBo with better offensive skills. His build and skating ability is very similar. - BiggE

No I didn't miss anything. My post addressed those who want to trade Gostisbehere because they're impatient and want to move on from him due to his struggles this season. I guess if he wasn't struggling, and continued to play as he did last season, we'd still be reading posts on trading Gostisbehere.
You just make it up as you go along don't you?

Again...more exaggeration from what was really discussed. If every GM operated on the basis of a player having to be going through struggles in order to trade them, this league would be in a lot of trouble
I clearly said I wouldn't trade him this season. But I'm the one making things up |

Your mistake is assuming that my post addressed you directly. If that was my intention, I would've quoted you. If you want to discuss your opinion on Gostisbehere, feel free to share it, and I'll be glad to discuss that. Yes, you're making things up. The Carter comment was nice though.

I heard it only takes 5 viewings by a professional scout to come to a firm conclusion about a prospect.

I wonder who currently on the flyers could get a first.
G, V, Konec, Prov, Schenn and probably Ghost. Simmonds and maybe MDZ?
Gudas too i would imagine. |

I think the point is if Ghost was playing to the level of last season no one would be talking about trades that include him |

Very free spirited. Kind of annoying actually. Loved the accent. |
