Meh...Carrick has filled a spot....not that great.
Maybe Kyllington could step in and bump Carrick down.
If they can step in and help this year...than ya I could a move like that. I just dont believe it will be for futures.
IMO - Fakepartofme
Yeah, honestly I don't think the Leafs will do anything I'm suggesting lol. All I know, is for once, I'm not worried about what move is coming next. |

Anaheim will be making a run....I doubt they trade fowler now...let alone that many D.
I could see LA trading a D for affordable Forward help. - Fakepartofme
just looked at LAs CAP and D prospects... not looking good. Who from LA would be available and of interest to the Leafs? sure not Martinez |

I honestly feel they will do nothing at the deadline.
Maybe a scrub move thats about it.
But Im hoping they do something big. The playoff experience would be huge for the kids if they made it. |

I hear ya. I would like to squeeze out a little better deal. But at least the starting point was close imo. |

Lou just said this week regardless of the playoffs the plan does not change. So the question we have all been asking is JVR part of the long term team? Heck if I know but given age and future contract cap value I will assume a trade is very possible. - BKups
The Leafs won't miss him, even a little bit.

Muzzin or Martinez would be my guess.
But I doubt they move Martinez unless they are blown away. |

Well then should have looked into that more
"The Despres situation is one that is a very sensitive issue and it’s one that my whole goal hopefully is make it that Simon at the end of all this lives a happy, healthy, normal life," Murray said, according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun. "It’s going to take some time before we get to that point. Really, it’s all I want to say at this time on that because it is sensitive and I feel real bad for Simon."
Fine in the search for a vegas exempt righty montour is the way to go.
Jvr %50 retained for stoner, Manson and montour - BrainSap
if the Leafs take Stoner, no need at all for retention on JvR. |

Should be no need to retain JVR's salary in any deal. |

I can't remember if you were pro trading JVR or keeping him. I think they will miss him but like we have previously said addition by subtraction, upgrading D is the greater need long term and given our forward depth in the future. |

You don’t have to by any means.
But if you can juice up the return by retaining, than go for it imo. with extra cap space next year, it shouldn’t hurt us.

well....maybe
But for JVR....it should be for D help that could jump into the 4 position. |

It's a good strategy.
The Rams did poorly there this year (on the field and in the cash register) so the best thing to do is give them some competition.
I realize I'm in a bit over my head here in terms of the economologies of the situation - probably better if I ask Mr. Tanner about it. |

Kadri already has the "rat" reputation. We don't need two of those guys especially one that's out there trying to take heads off constantly. |

The assumption is a quality Dman or prospect, I am guessing a "prospect".
I don't think it happens this year if the Leafs are close to a playoff spot. Even if they don't make the playoffs, it is good experience to be in contention.
It will be interesting to see if the young team can keep this up or if they will hit a wall around the 55 game mark. It is a lot of first full NHL season players on that roster.
