Marc Andre Flakey who gives up more goals before the 2 min mark of every game he plays than any goalie in NHL history. At this point I would be more comfortable with Tristan Jarry as the starter. It's time to move on. |

Pretty absurd statement to make after Fleury just put together a string of good games. That's encroaching on holeinone territory. |

I never said it was hard. I'm just noting that the rules/equipment changes today help to offset things like bigger goalies and tighter defensive schemes. That's why I said there's no way Brett Hull would score 86 goals in today's game and would only score 55-60 tops (and why I said OV's numbers would be higher in the 80s), because it was easier to score goals back in the 80s/early 90s. I just don't think you can exactly correlate what they would be, and I don't think it's as drastic as some people it to be.
Yes, if Ovie hops into his time machine with his composite sticks, current training regimen, lightweight skates, and doesn't ever anticipate a pass across 2 lines, he could probably put up 80-90 goals consistently. But if OV grew up in the 60s/70s, used a 1-piece stick, used 80s equipment, and had the same training (or lack thereof) as 80s players, he's probably putting up 65-75 consistently, which is still pretty amazing even by 80s standards. - jmatchett383
The sticks have very little to do with anything as there are major benefits to both. I've personally used both and find the new style limits velocity but improves accuracy. |

Nothing absurd about it, how many times has he given up the first goal and in and around the 2 minute mark? I don't know exactly but it I would say it feels like 85% ignoring time. I know Murray has been injured frequently this year but after the last decade plus MAF has been nothing but wildly inconsistent |

When you let ovi take wrist shots from inside the hash marks its prob going in. Letang should have went straight to ovi. |

The Jarry part was certainly an absurd statement. Call me old fashion, but I trust a guy who's batting around league average over a guy who, while good in the AHL, has never played a second in the NHL. |

3 Totally unimpeded one timers in 10 seconds by ovi. Craig Adams is shaking his head. But we can all be a dumb yinzer and blame the goalie. |

Not good in the AHL he is the best goalie in the AHL right now and Marty Murray was just about exactly a year ago as experienced as Jarry is right now and look how that turned out. MAF has always been shoved down people's throats because of his draft position. And his popularity on the team. I can't recall how many times in the last few years where I could not catch the game until after 5 mins in and we are always down and having to come back. We have the talent for sure to even come back tonight but I don't trust MAF and have not for almost a decade. He does play incredibly sometimes no doubt but he will break your heart every time you don't want him to. |

You do realize that maf is the best player on the ice all night for the pens right? Were skating alright but pens look like poop in the d zone. Or are you just that stupid? |

He has been the best player. The Pens have given up a ton wide open shots. |

I'm not a fan of Fluery but tonight isn't his fault... the 2 on 1 was played horribly by Tanger... I speed watched the first period and the announcer said the Minnesota Wild have been scouting Eric Fehr... any ideas on what he may fetch? |

At this point every nhl team should know that Ovies m.o. is to linger at the top of the face off circle. If you don't pick that up, he's going to launch missiles...and not weak Olesky shots either. |

No you're that stupid obviously. I have a decade of dissention against MAF. He has been overrated since pretty much the beginning. But this new tendency of giving up the first goal in the first 2 minutes is particularly disappointing given that I usually can't start watching the games until 5 minutes in in the witch if MAF is playing lately almost certainly means we are down at least one. I'm not sure what people like you see in him to be honest except for some kind of good memories of your younger days. I've been here since Franky Pieteranglo was the goalie. And in the 2 years, as an excercise in compitancy that cannot be disputed, I was the first to call Brian Dumoulin a future top 4 dman, I was the first that picked Kessel as an attainable asset when Ryan Wilson challenged us with the cap friendly app to much ridicule and I was the first to call Justin Shultz a worthy rarget for trade at the deadline last year. Those 3 things alone should buy me more credibility than they do and I don't care how drunk I am right now. |

Mid to lower rd pick. 4th/5th rounder. Not much.
Only way to turn this game around is to get bodies in front and shoot every chance they get. Holtby is locked in. Need bounces and deflections. |
