On the flip side of that, what does it say to Lehner if he's healthy though? There's two ways to look at it.

I think Nilsson played well last night, and since Lehner probably won't be good to go on Thursday, he's going to get the chance to play the next one too. Being that there's back to back games to finish out the week, it'll be interesting to see what happens for Friday's game.

- HonkFortheGoose

I agree with all of that.

Would you start Lehner in the next game if he was 100%?

No. I'd give him the Carolina game on Friday. The next two games are going to be split most likely anyway, since they're back to back.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring him back again for another season at a discounted price.

if its purely 4th line duty and we have no better options.. so be it.. but he can't be playing on Jacks wing

Both Goalies are playing well.. I wouldn't mind if they started altering the play more and using Nilsson a touch more.. If nothing you might be able to trade him for higher value than what you got for him if someone gets desperate..

You'll most likely only see that happen if Lehner still isn't healthy enough to play. And even then, it's possible Ullmark gets a game since Bylsma liked what he saw from him last year.

Ullmark was the back up, which tells me that Lehner's pretty under the weather right now.

How's everyone feeling about the possibility of McDermott and if him, maybe McCoy.
- TheSabresTaco

Not 100% in love with McDermott, but like the idea a little more if it means they're getting Mike McCoy. McDermott was a huge benefactor under Jim Johnson's tutelage while in Philly. Johnson is one of the greatest D-Coordinator's ever, like Richard LeBeau good, and McDermott inherited his system and players. I'm more excited that we'll have an answer on T-Mobile's fate. Hoping McCoy likes him.

Not only am I the founder and president of the Sam Reinhart support club, I'm also the same for T-Mobile's. I want Tyrod here next year with or without drafting DeShaun Watson.

Buffalo Sabres Stats
‏@SabresStats
Of all goalies that have played at least 10 games, Anders Nilsson's .945 even strength save% is 2nd in the NHL to Devan Dubnyk (.946).

This shouldn't even be a question as who to start for the next few games.

About Carrier, if he finishes strong, I would say we protect him over Ennis and Moulson.

Hopefully they give him a chance and keep him around for more than two years. My biggest issue with buffalo is our mentality of if it's not working in two years fire the coach.

Reich is a nothing coach and Pegula would have looked like more of a fool hiring him

Rex, in his infinite wisdom, made this top ranked defense worse with better players. He had all the tools and freedoms to succeed and failed. There was no improvement what so ever on the side of the ball that he was supposed to be a specialist at. It's a bad look to fire a coach two years into a 5 year contract, but this team was flat lining. Not to mention the discipline on this team was non existent.

The change was necessary and this city would be throwing out "same old bills" by accepting mediocrity once again.

If he brings McCoy as OC like they say and maybe Gus Bradley, it just might work out. Bradley is a good DC but not a good HC.
