Except he's not. The Flyers played horribly, at least for the 50 minutes I saw(I missed the first half of the 3rd because I had to run out real quick) they had a lot of shots, but not a ton of dangerous ones.

I'm fine with that, but that's not what you said. You said Robin could back up for the rest of the season.

I deny it.

Lehner gets a game with that many low percentage shots he would perform just as well

- Der Kaiser

Nilsson has a better sv% on high quality shots all year.

Okay let's say for example he goes on a hot streak does he get the starting job yes or no?

I think if you play this goaltender they will win way more games

No offesne, but a 1 goal on 40 shot game gets a Lehner boner fest in here.

Nilsson has had better numbers, all around, all season. We're halfway in now. Are we trying to win or what?

And they have nearly identical sv% overall so he must let in more softies (however those are defined and tracked by those who know).

So they have close to identical numbers (even though Nilsson's are better) and Nilsson wins more.

How is he not the better goalie right now?

Regardless of who is the better net minder right now, Nilsson needs to play. Lehner is Murray's guy and that's not going to change. If we sign Petersen and hold onto Ullmark one of them may be playing backup next year, so moving Nilsson at the deadline only makes sense. If gets in enough games and continues playing well we could potentially flip the 5th we paid for him turning it into a 2nd.

If we somehow do make the playoffs, I'd rather go into it with Lehner and Ullmark, than Lehner and Nilsson and receiving nothing for Nilsson when he walks this summer.

Ride Nilsson, and if he slips up, go back to Lehner.

Isn't this the blue collar Buffalo, where the mantra is "you gotta earn it" ?

Why should we hand the job to Lehner when Nilsson is winning?

If they can sign Petersen it'd be nice to ride him in the AHL he needs to play

We would barely get back the 5th we gave up for him. If we seriously come close to the playoffs, I'd rather just keep him if he's playing well

If Sean McDermott is new Bills HC, and it appears things are headed that way at the moment, keep hearing Mike McCoy could join him as

I've never said don't play Nilsson when he's winning. Not once. Lehner is the starter, but not by a Miller/Enroth margin. Lehner gets first crack, and Nilsson gets select games and will keep playing if he plays well, but if he falters, even a little, it's right back to Lehner whereas Lehner will play and if he falters a little they see how he reacts. That's pretty much the only difference between the 2 at the moment. I'm not saying he played bad tonight, but he didn't exactly steal the game for the team either. He was pretty much a non-factor; like the goalie is most nights with this team.
