So what do you guys think Hextall will look to do at the TDL? I would have to assume at least one defender gets moved(possibly Streit, Schultz, Del Zotto). I could see something where maybe laughton is moved for maybe another type of player in same situation(has developed like they hoped).
Just curious on what people might like to see or fell might happen - J35Bacher
If I were him I'd pick up an AHL goalie on an expiring contract to expose in the expansion draft to relieve some of the pressure at that position. |

they dont really have the ability to do that with a healthy roster, unless you just want to screw someone over the in AHL |

I think they move 1 goalie, likely Neuvirth since there seems to be a market created for goalies, even back ups. 1-2 Dmen, could be any combination of Streit, Schultz, Del Zotto or even Macdonald(with salary retained).
Read would be the only other forward worth moving I can think of that may get some interest. Not sure if they would move Vandevelde or PEB if they're on the outside looking in. If so, they wouldn't bring back much but would open up roster space.

Speaking of expansion...I get why it is possible, but simply asking (forcing, really) players to waive their NMC so they dont need to be protected seems like a silly way out of that whole situation. |

I imagine Stolarz will be in the NHL next year so the Flyers would most likely be signing a veteran to back up Lyon anyway. |

I honestly feel like he'll do what he did last year...nothing. Del Zotto is a UFA so if they're not going to resign him, they'll let him walk. They won't get much of anything for Streit, due to injury issues or Schultz due to age. I feel like he's almost too patient... |

yeah I agree, just think it'll be happening during the offseason, despite it being a good idea for expansion |

Clear the D man log jam and make room for a prospect to hit the ice this year and move Neuvy or Mason. |

they have to expose someone under contract for 2017-2018 so it wouldn't surprised me to see them sign a veteran before expansion if they don't want to expose Stolie. |

Right, but the list of contracts that can be buried in the AHL without a cap hit on teams that have extra goalies to expose is not very large. That and you have to trade for him...

Then you just let him sit in the press box every night. I'm sure you can find one for a 6th/7th.
Or, as I've said, does Emery want a couple hundred thousand for nothing?
Edit: Misread your post. |

Congrats to Simmer, but I'm not sure the 3 on 3 format is what he's best suited for |

I think he will move Schultz if there is any market. Depends on how they look at the TDL though. |

I think you could deal a low level prospect or 6th/7th rounder and get a back up to resign as a back up next season in LHV. A Curtis McElhinney type would be perfect. Cheap cap hit. Can expose him and protect Stolarz.
Probably be my plan if both goalies play "meh" down the stretch |
