Other question: Jagr has 756 goals and missed 3 NHL seasons (not counting lockputs) to play in the KHL. Taking an average of his goals totals for the 3 seasons before and after those seasons (not a moving average), and normalizing for an 82 (in his case, 76.875) game season in 12/13, he averages 29.8 goals/season, giving him basically an extra 90 goals for 846. - jmatchett383
Yeah, that guy is amazing. He'd have broken the record for sure had he not left. |

On an unrelated note, I was completely unaware that Brian Propp had suffered a stroke. There was/is an article written on Philly.com yesterday by Bob Ford about his recovery etc which was a good read.
And yes, I'm too lazy to find the link. - hockeylover

When does this CBA expire. I would factor a work stoppage in there, somewhere
Edit: Ovi goal total |

2022 but players have an opt out clause in 2019...also...the NHL tried to use the olympics as a tool to extend the CBA, so it is somewhat fluid |

If Crosby up and retired today, I'd say no. Here's my list based on that (incredibly unrealistic) premise:
1.) Gretzky
2.) Howe
3.) Messier
4.) Mario
5.) Sakic
6.) Espo
7.) Jagr
8.) Trottier
9.) Kurri
10.) Brett Hull
Crosby is only 29 and if he just has a couple more average years (average by his standards), he's cracking this list IMO. - johndewar
Here are 10 forwards who I'd rank over Crosby for best all time
Gretzky
Lemieux
Howe
Rocket Richard
Bobby Hull
Beliveau
Jagr
Federov
Guy Lafleur
Messier

So what do you guys think Hextall will look to do at the TDL? I would have to assume at least one defender gets moved(possibly Streit, Schultz, Del Zotto). I could see something where maybe laughton is moved for maybe another type of player in same situation(has developed like they hoped).
Just curious on what people might like to see or fell might happen |

I think they are going to be right at that bubble spot where we really know until right down to the wire.
Other then the winning streak, right now they just aren't consistent enough to create any distance from teams chasing them or gain on anyone in front |

I've talked with people in the Pens blog about Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr is today's game.
Most agreed that their raw totals would be lower, but that they would still be the best point producers in the game.
As much as the fanbase hates Crosby, can anyone here legitimately say that he's not one of the top 10 forwards to ever play the game? - jmatchett383
(frank) him and his Penguin teammates. |
