Jack Eichel irritates me like no other young star. He never looks like he's not sleepwalking and he's a 2-way mess. And he didn't understand the concept of passing to Ghost on the PP at the World Cup. He's skilled as anything, but I can't be the only one who finds him annoying to watch. Looks dopey as (frank) too.

Fact: AMac is the worst at getting his shot through on net. Ghost's shot rate on net is actually similar to last year. Just not scoring. And I remember some people commenting last year on how often Ghost missed the net a lot. All the goals just kind of obfuscated it last season. He does need to work on it.

He's young and a talent but I don't think he will ever be anywhere near McDavid and that has to kill the Sabres. this isn't a OV/Malkin 1-2 thing. not even sure he is better than Marner.

I love the Sabres as a franchise. Their GM is awful but thinks himself a genius, their coach is awful, their seasons of tanking really didn't turn out as well as hoped, and their two stars in Risto (he's really talented, but you can see why he has poor #s 5v5....has a lot of bad habits from his time on those awful teams as a teen) and Eichel have awful underlying stats.

I honestly have zero worries about them being a team we'll battle with as we contend.

He's so talented. But he just always rubs me the wrong way. There's just something about his game that just seems lazy and half-assed. All that talk about comparing him to McDavid, and he definitely is showing they weren't in the same universe. Eichel will accumulate points, but I don't know if he'll ever be a true game changer, Cup winning type. Forget the points: McDavid is a really good 2-way player too. I remember reading that scouts had Eichel above Matthews too. Not even close either. Matthews is the real guy who has a case to even be anywhere near McDavid.

I would probably take Marner also.

It's hard to get a good read on him. He started the season hurt with a long term injury and the Sabers suck. I won't go as far as calling him a franchise savior but he has time to mature as a player.
