what would it take to get Duchene, a 1st + ?

More than the Devils can afford I'd think. Duchene is almost as good as Hall and can play center and wing equally well, and the Av's 1st is looking to be the favorite for 1st overall.

Agreed. But the team overachieved last year and I don't think management wants to go the scorched Earth route that Toronto, Buffalo and Edmonton took.

yea and it was really due to schneider playing as a top 3 goalie...now that he's not this season we are where we are

Yup. Personally I don't think the Devils will struggle as long as most teams re-building on the fly. Hall, Schneider, Henrique, Zacha, Palmieri, Santini and Zajac is a solid group to build around, especially with all the cap space Jersey still has.
