Agreed, both clean hits. Did the fans cheer loudert and louder as they replayed the hit and showed Laine out on the ice?
- jmatchett383

I was there. The replay was not shown at any time in the arena. The fans cheered during the fracas that followed the hit. There was applause for Laine when he got to his feet.

The hit was clean and the way everything was handled after was appropriate and respectful.

Hello! Long time reader, first time poster. You guys are pretty entertaining so I felt like I should finally join in. It will make these midnight shifts go faster.

Few thoughts: I like Lehner. Don't love him, but I think he is playing good enough for a bridge contract. No more, no less. He is still relatively young. Like some previous posters said, it'd be really interesting to see what his numbers look like with an upgraded defense.

I'm also excited to see Ennis come back soon. I know he hasn't really given us much of a reason to be excited recently, but I still have (some) hope he can produce. He put up good points on much, much worse teams. Not ready to give up on him yet.

I think the Flyers game will be a great test to see where this team is right now. It's frustrating to see flashes of how good this team can be, then watch them come out the gate like they did against Winnipeg. Hopefully they can put a whole game together against Philly, because it would be a big statement game imo.

If Miller made 3 mill a year instead of 6, nobody would say a word. Miller doesn't get enough credit, we didn't get a cup with Hasek either so F him too.

- SABRES 89

aside from 10 months, miller was average

the guy in a typical season was 18-25 in the nhl in gaa and save%

my guess is if we got lehner for a 3rd instead of a first, they would not be all over him

isn't that what half of us argued his entire time here? i would have been willing to go as high as 4.5 but 6 was too much for a good goalie that wasn't elite.

And yes we didn't win a cup with Hasek, however he had a poop team to work with and that was all management and their internal cap. And he took less further. But at the end of the day we didn't win.. but i wouldn't say F him

he had his spurts.. early on he looked better because Briere/duruy teams could score at will.. how many times would they play average all game then turn it on for 10 min and score 3 or 4 goals to win the game

I remember a hab game, at home, we were down by 3

kept getting called for non penalties

once they killed the 3 penalties off, team went beast mode and was up 3 goals within 15 minutes

You can blame management also for the Sabres getting screwed during the Canes series also.

we can't go back in a time machine

owner is behind this gm, and I am looking at him for his play on the ice, not the cost to get him now

miller played like crap in game 7

as did a bunch of others

trying to sit on a 1 goal lead on the road for that long will never work with the d we had then

To me, if we don't look at like this, it's like longing for a relationship that didn't work and lamenting the new relationship due to that.
